my friend went to play a 2 5 game last night thats real reckless and plays more like a 5 10.  he brings 200 bucks the minimum buy in.  after folding over and over for a while he got aa inthe big blind.  one guy makes it 50 preflop another guy makes it 150 he gets called then it gets to my friend (he has about 165 he says and he folds aces if you can believe that).  anyways this is where it gets funny.  he goes "well i thought i would have a better chance to get money on another hand and i was right because i woulda been sucked out on"  i said first of all you cant play 2 5 with 200 bucks especially in a reckless game like that and 2nd of all you would also have the right oddds to call with aces whether you get sucked out or not on.  i mean how stupid can ppl get?

The answer to your original question is "no, just your friends".

    i like the move.....

yeah he had AA, but with 3 other people in the pot there is a very good chance one will end up with a better hand than him, so saving the money for a better spot is not a bad decision....

ya so he was worse then 25% to win that hand

look it up on the card player calculator hes around 50% no matter what the other guys have. he basically had 165 going for 660.

and yes bringing only 200 is so stupid.  he buys in for 500 like he should then he could make it 465 and possibly win the pot right there.

the guy is pretty smart, he would have lost the hand ya know, assuming that he couldn't have pushed the guy off on the flop. This guy must be smart to foresee the future like that

minimum 2/5 game is usually 300 and max 500. But at home games where guys play like its a 5/10 game then you really can't go there knowing that and bringing only 200 bucks.

why would you even want him there he doesnt bring any money and folds every hand and wins once then hit and runs.  devils your right 500 is the max buy in but i would want at least another bullet hence why i said 1000 there if i was going to play.  too easy to lose 500 to a dumb suckout there.

You don't fold AA if 9 people go allin in front of you let alone 3 people.

That is unbelieveable, folding AA preflop!  It doesn't matter how many people are in the hand, how stupid can a person be.  I have NEVER seen or even heard of someone folding AA preflop.  Maybe he should take up knitting or sewing because he doesn't need to be playing poker.  On second thought, where does he live I want to have him at my next game.

It's true his percentage goes down with more people in the pot but he has the best hand going to the flop.   LOL at folding aces.

I hate shortstacks too, they just take up space.

If you fold AA preflop with $165 left looking at $200 pot, you should not be playing poker.  Period.  What kind of math or game theory justifies that kind of lay down?

Yeah, I agree with what everyone else says. You get all your money in when you have the best odds (not talking about reading/bluffing other players in this case). AA would have been a favorite over any hand (except another AA, haha) here so he should definitely have gone all in.
