any of you guys play pokerstars

any of you guys play pokerstars im starting tonight my road to the wsop and will be putting lot of time and efforts into poker over the next 5 months ,so all the support i could get is always better and maybe we could play some tournys or something just looking for extra players to chat with since i get bored or distracted very easily online

You sound like a decent person, but good luck wasting away your life for the next 5 months chasing a dangling carrot.  You will probably catch hands early since you are new to the site, but it is all downhill for your bankroll from there.

I usually play $25 6 seat sng's on Fri/Sat nights when we aren't doing anything.  I just recently upped to $25 from $13.  I also started playing the 180 person $22 tourney (technically a sng) on Sunday afternoons while watching football. 

Don't listen to what these clowns say.  You can definitely win money on there but if you think because you beat your friends in your home cash games that you're going to be successful online you have no idea what you are getting into.  If you're new to online I'd suggest starting at like $10-15 and if you're successful then up the stakes.

I'll likely be on Friday night if you're interested in playing.  $20-25 is definitely way too high for a $100 bankroll but whatever.

I've said it in a few other places, and I'll tell you here, the best bankroll-builders on PokerStars are the 'Double or Nothing' sit & goes.  I've moved most of my bankroll to Full Tilt, but I still keep some on Stars just to grind out Double or Nothings.   

I used to be an extremely patient player, so "D or Ns" should be good.  But I played a couple of them, and felt like I wanted to die.  I did the work early to double my chips, then the 4 or 5 remaining players rarely played a hand for the next 20 minutes. 

No thanks to that snoozefest.  I'd rather torture myself by watching Brady Bunch or Gilligan's Island reruns than to play that game set up for nits.  Danno, good job if it works for you.  I can't stand it.   

I only play turbos.  And how can there be '4 or 5 remaining players' if the tourney stops when you get down to 5 people.  You start with 10 and at 5 the game ends. 

And thanks for slyly calling me a nit.  Anytime you want to rock heads up, you pick the game and the stakes. 

what's your handle on ft danno? from reading this thread and others, your poker iq seems pretty high - i'd like to sweat you on occasion.

Danno, I admit to having played only two or 3 D or Ns.  Okay, it came down to having to eliminate 1 or 2 more players, and I got tired of waiting.  And yes, I DO think you are a nit.  So if you want to challenge a nit like me at UB, I'll gladly play for small stakes.  I HATE JokerStars, so I would not even play .01/.02 there.

I don't play on PokerStars much anymore, and I don't play at all on UB.  I'm mostly on FullTilt now, but I do still play on Stars a little bit because I like those tourneys and Badugi.

Me too.  Do you play on Stars?  It's such a small number of people who play on Stars that I see the same few people at the table everyday.   

I used to play on stars all the time, but switched to FTP about 6 months ago.  I hate that FTP doesn't have Badugi, I might get back on stars in a couple weeks, if so I'll let u know and we can play

if you are new at playing online, i would suggest the games that are only a couple dollars.  that way you can get used to it.  ...and id be down to play sometime.  cant really afford the $15+ games though truthfully
