I completely agree this jets team is due for a correction and over performed in 09'. The defense played out of their respective minds, and the offensive line was one of the best in the NFL. Even though the o-line was awesome I'd like everyone to look up jamarcus russells rookie stats and compare them to Sanchez's. I'd post them myself but I'm currently posting from my phone. You will find russell almost had better numbers across the board! And sanchez was in a much better situation (running backs, offensive line, wr) than russell had. Losing thomas jones and leon washington and hanging on the carries on greene and LTs corpse isn't exactly an upgrade in my opinion.

Most glaring fact to me is the defense with or without revis played completely out of their minds last year and will regress this year, can the offense compensate for the d giving up more points this year? I high doubt it, will be making a wager on jets under hope everyone keeps betting the over and revis signs and maybe push this bitch to 10 wins by opening day

ok i had to stop reading and post after i heard someone say no one is talking up ne.  i myself consider them basically the best team in the afc

indy does seem to have everything going for them with bob sanders back but still (apparantly.  i think thats what i heard) but still i consider ne the better team

remember how indy beat them last year

it wasnt even a fair win.  like that ref was absolute trash.  like you dont see that bad of officiating in flag football matches between two year olds.  honestly.  if youve seen it worse tell me but thats my opinion

thats actually embaressing to go down that way in this hyped of a league.  but anyways

and im not even talking about the ne coach going for it.  im talking about how it was an obvious first down.  who messes up that big of a call.  really?  can u honestly see that happening anywhere else but the nfl?  discluding teachers refing school things or elsewhere refing

    anyways

baltimour isnt gonna rep the afc please

Sanchez is easily one of the worst starting QBs in the NFL. Force the Jets to pass and he will throw 3+ INTs per game.  Shonn Greene has fumbling problems and LT is too old.  With no Revis, the Jets are going to struggle especially against the Pats (Moss) and Dolphins (Marshall).

If anyone is going to have a sophmore year, it's Sanchez. QB's can have a tough time in their 2nd year. They usually get more freedom to make those split second decisions and audible set plays from the coaches and wind up screwing it up. Don't be surprised if the Jets shut out an opponent for 3 quarters and lose the game.

Another problem is Revis, without him, I see the Jets defense down a notch. One man doesn't make a team, but they will need him when facing teams with good passing games. They may lose a few of those that they could have one.

Sanchez is young, and I look for it to show big time this year.

Just for the record, the Jets lost the turnover battle 4 to 1 and lost the game by only 5 points, that's a rarity, and it's telling you how strong the Jets are.

Let's compare that to the Indy/GB game, Indy lost the TO battle 4 to 1 as well and lost the game by 35 points.

I could not agree more BigNiner.  Defense does not win championships.  That's a fact.  Not an opinion.  You need a QB to be able to win games for you, not just "not lose" games.  Sanchez is certainly not that guy.  Unless the D can hold teams to under 14 points a game, see ya.

Look at Balt "D".  They finally realized that this is a passing game and a QB league.  They drafted a QB in Flacco and now they sign Boldin.  Teams don't have to have a great defense to win.  The D just has to step up a few times a game when needed.  The offense wins games and has for many, many years.

Moral of the story:  QB's win championships, not defenses.

as a jets fan I see your points, and often wonder if every 1 is watching the same game I AM.....Especially when they say how good Sanchez is...I get it he's young and all that but just because he completes one pass for positive yards all of a sudden he's brilliant...The D is good and the run game is good....but Sanchez is the weakest link and possibly so is schotty the OC, I can only hope to be wrong about sanchez but unfortunately he keeps proving me right.....bol all

Sanchez isn't a franchise QB yet and the Jets do not have enough weapons around him to cover up the fact that he is an okay second year guy. I don't think the defense is going to be as good as last year either as see the Jets being 8-8 or worse.

only time will tell thats why they play the games, however I agree about sanchez...he's just not there yet...But the D is solid and the O has weapons...Holmes ( who will miss the 1st 4 games) edwards, cotchery , LT , Greene , Keller...maybe OC is just to vanilla....I don't know but if the jets made the playoffs I would be surprised

Their schedule is not the toughest, but it's also not easy.  I think that 8-8 would be miraculous.  They just don't have the fire power to keep up with teams.  They're to worried about Sanchez losing games, so they play way to close to the vest to win much in this day and age.  If they open up a little, and Sanchez all of a sudden becomes good,  they might play .500.  I have them going 4-12, maybe 5-11.

So sick of hearing about an 8-8 Jet team this year...most overrated team in NFL history.  Giants will have more wins then Jets...Come see me in December.

still go 11-5 or 10-6 and win the afc east. they lose to the best team in the afc by 1 off a fluke pass interference call and people think they are done. holmes comes back in week 5 and will open up the offense. defense is so strong

Since it is uncapped year, they should just offer Kurt Warner $25,000,000 for this season.

Seems like this thread only gets bumped after the Jets lose.  I think it's only fair we give props when props are due...Sanchez and company have looked impressive thus far.
