The speech given by Jeff Daniels in a TV show called Newsroom is aging like a fine wine these days. Please put the Kool-Aid down and listen to it like 100 times just to get your brain cells back on track. " we used to wage war on Poverty not on poor people". That came to mind after reading your profound diatribe. "we never beat our chest" was my next thought. , off to enjoy my day. Hope yours is great!

Numbers don't lie, but liars use numbers. Maybe in your hillbilly state gas has come down a few cents. I just paid $8,49 for a dozen eggs, put gas in my car at a price as high or higher than a year ago, bought some meat, same deal. Your boy hasn't done shit except make a billion or two with his manipulation of the markets with is tariff bullshit

@7272 I just paid $8,49 for a dozen eggs Then you got ripped off: https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/eggs-us put gas in my car at a price as high or higher than a year agoNo, you didn’t: https://www.gasbuddy.com/charts bought some meat, same deal Beef has come down from the extreme high of last year. But you have to ask why did it shoot up so high last year. https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/beef It is not that ‘liars use numbers’ as much as some people just do not know the numbers.
Dont believe any website on data like this (with data a government is interested in lying to you about) believe what you see in the stores - most websites like these get their data directly from a government controlled entity directly through an API - it isn’t like they go out and check the prices in every store themselves (if they even check any of them) - so this is what your national bank tells you - your economy is like (and both Trump and Biden when he was in power controls the national bank to a large extent)

Nonsense. This is not coming from a government that wants to lie to you. This is the data that is aggregated from several independent sources. You can go and see where and how they get their data. Going by ‘what you see in the stores’ presumes you remember exactly what you paid for that exact item at that exact store exactly one year ago. Very few people are going to care enough to be that meticulous. That is why I say people simply have recency bias and do not know what the numbers really are, or were. By that logic you cannot trust any source to tell you true data, and that simply is not correct.

Mate I have done this for a living through my entire life I know how this works - they get their data directly from an API from a government controlled entity

Yes “normal people” can trust these sites - normally governments have no reason to lie (btw I don’t know if they are lying or not - I am not in the US and I don’t care - but you could move your body down to the 3 most nearby stores and see if you could buy eggs or whatever to the price it shows on your website) - changing these numbers wouldn’t affect the real situation the slightest - but yeah if you have a government that would be interested in lying you couldn’t no

I literally didn’t - I pointed out that I don’t know and I don’t care (I would be happy for you if they were lower - or even free)
I am just pointing out the obvious - believe the price you pay in the store and not what a website tells you that it should cost - cause one of them is real — the other is to some extent not

Most of you guys just use way too much energy and time - caring how others perceive you - I don’t give two flying fucks - I am richer than most of you, I have fucked more women than most of you, I live in a country that cares more for me than any of you etc. So I am in here to interact with the narrow minded, egocentric fucks - that is Americans of today - and I love it - it is like going to the zoo - where they put humans from 100’s of years ago on display

No sir. That is not how all of the sources work. Gasbuddy, for example, is crowd-sourced. There are many other independent places that get their numbers from card transactions and surveys and studies.
I am not sure what you mean that you do for a living? Interpret data? Compile it? But I can tell you flat out that economists like real data and true data. That is also one of the reasons so many of the reports are ‘corrected’ later as more pertinent data comes in after the initial reports. ‘Trusting’ what you see at a store is fine. But there are problems with doing only that. For one, you cannot do a comparison with exactly what you saw exactly one year ago. Very, very few folks are going to write that down just to see what they paid for eggs from year to year. Another problem is that you are only getting a single-point of failure assessment. What if that one store happens to charge more or less on average for eggs than everyone else. That is why data and statistics are used to sample and come up with what is regarded as accurate information for economists to use. They are not run by the government. Some of the data they use that is released by them is easily verifiable from many outside points. A prime example of this is oil and gas. Most commodities can be examined this way, including beef.

Go down to your local store or Walmart or whatever you want and buy a dozen of eggs and post the image of the receipt here and then we can talk again
And yes I am an economically advisor that compile different economically overview statements and we have used sites exactly like those you posted so we had inspectors out seeing how they did - and they got them from a government controlled entity - but sure if you can get both of us a field trip behind there - I am up for giving them a visit I would be up for seeing your disappointed American face when your whole world and the view of it crumbles

Well I have fucked enough that I haven’t had time being affected if other people I have met in my life are gay or not - btw it is you that has a complex telling yourself that you are better than me - I don’t think any of the things I just stated make me better than you - then I would use my time highlighting that all the time (I only highlight US not being what it is cracked up to be - and that is pretty relevant since that is what we are discussing)

Here's a highlight for you ......

And what does that highlight ? That I think Trump is gay and so what? It doesn’t affect my life and I said either right before or right after I wouldn’t care if he was or not

Trump is gay and I am not - but if I were I would take one for the team to show you he was gay - that was what I said there and what I say now
