First off, you are correct...Kobe is not the MVP this year, he didn't need to be. He has plenty of talent around him so throughout the regular season he was able to defer to his teammates most of the time. The Lakers didn't NEED him to put up huge numbers. LeBron on the other hand, he NEEDED to put up those numbers to carry his team and that's what he did.
Secondly, hmmmmmm...the Lakers SWEPT the Cavs home-and-away this season and that was without Bynum. Now he's back and the Lakers are even better. I don't see how you think the Cavs will be able to take the Lakers out...only thing I can think of is that it's simply the "homer" in you talking. Feel free to start your own Cavs Fans thread...

I've won some easy money off the Lakers and I'm sure I will be betting on them again, but I can't believe the arrogance of this thread. Could they win it all? Yes. Are they the best team? NO. Clev. is the best team and I'm sorry Kobe lovers, but Lebron is the MVP so get over it. If any of you want to bet on it I will personally give you +400 on Kobe, just let me know. If everything plays out the way it should it will be the Lakers vs Cavs in the finals and what a finals it will be. That doesn't mean it will happen, one unfortunate injury could change the playoffs dramatically. Not to be a hater on this thread, but come on it's the first series of the PLAYOFFS.

If Cleveland is the "best team" then why did the Lakers sweep them AND the Celtics this season...without one of their key players who is now back??? How are the Cavs better if they couldn't beat the Lakers? You do know the Lakers were the ONLY team to beat the Cavs in their house all season, right?
Another thing, nobody's making any "we already won the title" statments here...just a thread for fans to "UNITE" and have some fun. Don't get the wrong idea. There is work to be done. We will ride this thread all the way.

Top o' da mornin' to all you Laker fans! What a beautiful day it is! A great day to be a Laker fan baby! 
So next on the horizon more than likely will be the Rockets.....those poor Blazers were so over-hyped! They do deserve some credit though, they could not have gotten a worse matchup for them than the Rockets.
I think vs. the Rockets the Lakers would win that series in 5 or less...whatta we think next series everybody?

LA is a strong team this year.....but Cavs have been just as straing if not stronger.
I really think Kobe (who is 30 yrs old) killer instinct is being matched by LBJ (who is 24 years old).
As soon as Cleveland picks up a legitmate SF or PF then LBJ will be getting successive titles like MJ did.
Cavs may actually have enough for him to get the title this year.
It will be interesting.
But since this is a post in a LA appreciation thread....that was a great performace Game 4 in Utah....but please remember, Utah is an 8th seeded team and that kind of performance was to be expected.

I'm almost hoping that KG comes back and the Celtics make it past the Cavs so the Lakers can show what they would've done to the Celtics last year if Bynum played. But for NBA purposes its going to most likely end up being Kobe vs Lebron in a great finals. Lakers in 6 though, they already proved to be way too much for the Cavs even in Cleveland this year.
