Hey Van, any concern about the sweden/russia line flipping around? Line was -120 sweden this morning and now it's -120 russia. (This is PK line I am speaking of.) Thanks for your time.

2 things I have to say.
A) I seriously believe russia can beat the dutch. The dutch are that team who look strong in the beginning of the year, but as it goes on, there game gets worse and worse. The Russians if they take advantage of their opportunitys can really make this a game.
B) You said earlier youve been betting on WC qaulifiers. I took a stab at Argentina +240 ML. I think this has great value. Brazil has been playing shitty of late and a lot of people are calling for the coach to be fired, any views on this play?

A - Im not sure how you can say the dutch game has gotten "worse and worse" as the tourney has gone on. Their second team beat up a Romania team that HAD to win. I dont buy this - I think the Dutch have looked flawless so far. And yes - the Russains looked awesome today - but they didnt take advantage of their opportunities against greece and looked bad - and were horrible against Spain. Im not saying I like the Dutch in the game against Russia - at least not yet - but I will be hopeful that a lot have your sentiment and the line stays bettable and low - because if I get a low line I will hammer Holland.
B - I thought long and hard about the Argentina game tongiht - and at first glance liked them - but was eventually scared off by a Brazil team with its back against the wall. Im going to sit this one out and probably be pissed when argentina wins, but I just cant pull the trigger.

I meant that the Dutch usually look worse and worse throughout a tournament, as they get deeper into tournaments, there offense gets weaker. Theyve certainly looked great so far, but dont they usually look good in group stages? The Dutch will certainly be favored, and probably by a lot, but I expect this game will be a hell of a game (its on ABC also)

The only problem I see with the Russians is that they are not taking advantage of all their opportunities, they could have won 4-0, or maybe even 5-0 today without a problem. The Spain game, they didnt have the whole team their, they are young. I think without a doubt theyve already proven they are gonna be a hell of a team in the future, even if they lose against the Dutch. They will REALLY prove themselves in the WC qaulifiers

Appreciate everything Vanzack, I hate betting against a team I want to win the whole Euro but I felt Sweden was the better tactical team and my Russian parents and all their friends didn't even think Russia would advance. Arsharvin was definately the difference and Ibrahimovic being injured didn't help. Oh I also heard that Russian billionaire Roman Ibramovich said that if Russia won this game he would give each player a million so they had a little extra incentive for this game!0

Lets get a good discussion going on the Portugal-Germany match. I have 725 to win 500 on Portugal o5.5 goals for the tourney, they're at 5 right now. ANd to be honest, I'm not entirely comfortable, if anyone can shut them out it's Germany in a knockout game. Even though Portugal is favored. I could see OT or a PK win by the Germans.

if you could explain this to me with a quick answer i'd really appreciate it. When betting soccer, if you take a team's ML they're really -.5 and they have to win, while if you take them in a pick 'em situation, a draw is a push when it isn't in the first situation?

most euro soccer betting houses (an the world) have 3 way betting
team a wins
draw
team b wins
the "americanized" version sometimes uses goal lines
team a pk even
team b pk -120
sometiems they have a goal spread
team a +.5 -125
team b -.5 +115
often they also have 3 way available. it gets weird when you have something like this:
team a +1.5 -150
team b -1.5 +140
team a to win +500
draw +300
team b to win -500
vanzack is pretty smart about posting his pks so when he says "pk" he means its an "americanized" line at pk (draws push). as he ddi with the germany bet the other day, if its 3 way he'd say "germany to win" -225

Although I like Spain the least of the #1s I think Italy is ripe for the picking, whilst Germany just "seems" like the right type of team to beat Portugal. I was tempted to list Spain/under, but I don't know if that side can actually win a 1-0 game. There is no fucking way the Turks come up with another multi-goal second half. They are riding a high though. Might Croatia get a good number because of the way in which Turkey advanced? Its possible.
