I had a good think about the tournament last night.
The tournament itself is very weak.
The Sydney teams especially without the Aus players are extremely weak compared to everyone else.
Even when you take out McCullum and DV for Brisbane, they too are very weak...
Its like the NRL, where the clubs who have rep players miss out on 3/4 of the season...
It is a great concept, but have it away from the test matches and out of the international calender where everyone can play.
It is forcing players like kahwaja, Hughes, Maddison and co to play t20 , who have no business playing t20.........
It is a very very diluted comp.....
It ay have had a record viewing on TV on Sat night, that was only cause of Warne and that it is a new concept...Once they see the product being pretty porr due to the diluted teams, it will die a slow death.
At least in the old format, there were 2 less teamswhich makes a huge difference in depth, that is an extra 25 odd players to strengthen the comp...There just arent enough good players with all the test commitments, injuries etc etc....
Not one game has come down to the last 2 balls yet.....
