I agree with King Scorpio that looking at lines and where they should be is a great indicator of where Vegas is hoping action will go.
One thing that I look into is..what motivates millionaires on any given night? So ask yourself who's motivated to play better than the guy next to them tonight...find ur angle and roll with it. I'd lean to the east pl for my own reasons.

No way, never heard of such a thing. That's how baseball plays their all-star game which is what the NHL should do.
But,<< In the Stanley Cup Final, home ice is determined based on regular season points>
Eli, did I read that right? Are you saying the NHL should adopt baseball's policy? I always thought it was asinine to determine such an important thing on a meaningless game. Say for example the Panthers miraculously make a run to the finals ( ). They would then get to host the Sharks or Wings, two teams that have been the clear class of the league all year, because the East's stars played better on a random day?
Don't forget, the only reason baseball implemented this was to save face after the embarrassing all star tie in Milwaukee.

Good point with the Panthers example but at the same time, you kinda make the point that prompted me to say that about the policy.
This week-end is beyond embarrassing when it comes to the effort and entertainment-value of all activities. Even the announcers on the telecast are spending more time discussing why the NHL even bothers to create new formats to the shootout competition and now the NHL is babysitting the players by threatening to suspend them if they don't cancel a trip to go see family in Europe.
So, yeah, time has come for the NHL to save face just like the MLB had to do by having this game actually mean something.

Is the All Star game really that important though that it needs a dramatic "saving" effort? I've been a hockey guy for 20 years, and the all star game is just irrelevant to me. Let the city the hosts it enjoy the weekend of festivities, and just let it pass.

I bet the under..... so with the score 8-7 with 6+ minutes left in the 2nd I'm looking to be in tough shape.
What was I thinking betting the UNDER in an All-Star game? Why would I have thought watching such a debacle and cheering for DEFENSE would be a good idea?
Oh well....
