I try to get my bets in as early as possible because I usually beat the closing line. There will be times where a player is scratched last minute or an injury, but that is just part of the business. If you anticipate the line moving in your favor, then by all means wait. Usually my lines get worse and worse so I try to bet as soon as possible.
I will fade a pick if the odds become worse than my own lines. I make my own lines and compare them to the books. I bet lines I believe have value. Once my lines lose their value compared to the books, I pass.

In Canada, we use decimal system for odds. 2.80 is the same as +180. You can convert it on your sportsbook site. Flat betting $100 will win your $280, $180 profit, or betting $100 at +180 wins you $180 profit.
I put the decimal system first and in the brackets the american system because of these types of questions. Please read over the entire thread and you will find answers to most of your questions. Thanks and good luck

Habs haven't done so well this week, but they did face a pissed off Chicago team and were pretty gassed vs. Calgary after that long road trip. Overall the talent level compared to Buffalo is far superior. They will win tonight.

Detroit is tired, but never count out Babcock. I feel this game is very even and capped them at a tie. I don't want to lean you one way because it's not a play for me.
