The Lions couldn't win a championship if you handed them the whole NFC Pro Bowlers, just look at the whole car company over a hundred years of putting out crap.

The Cowboys can have Roy. I'm so glad that loud mouth self centered ass is gone. At Lions training camp he went over to a fan and started getting to a verbal confrontation with the guy cuz he said stop taking plays off.  The dude had a reason to say that... he was walking around like a fucking walking zombie dropping balls, laughing it up.. dicking around.. just ridiculous. Than some kid asked for an authograph and he gave the kid a dirty look and said nah you got a michigan shirt on or something along those lines. Anyway I lost all respect for him after that day and now im glad hes out the door.

I could not be more happier. If you think TO Drops a lot of passes wait till you get to watch Roy Dallas Fans. He is so overrated. The Lions finally did something right. Now all we have to do is draft what we need.

The Cowboys "O" has more weapons now then any other team I have ever seen.. Im not a Cowboy fan either. Im a niner fan, so it kills me to say that but its true.

NO SHOT!!!!   TO is like 35. He will be done in a couple of years, but he will retire a Cowboy. And Roy will be there at home, in Dallas, for around 10 years.

I know that Dal 1st need (make that 2nd, 3rd, etc.) is a CB but this is the NFL not MLB where trading at the deadline for needed piece is easy (see CC, Harden, Manny).  There was no CB out there to be had.

I'm not saying Williams is right fit for Dal but if I was a Dal fan, I would give Jones prop for doing this.  They know w/ TO getting up there in age, their window for a title is NOW.

As for draft picks, they definitely gave up too much to get him (as a Lions fan, this might be their 1st personnel move we can be proud of in LONG time) but w/ Jones gone, they "gain" 2 picks.  They get back a 5th from Ten and not having to give up a 6th to Ten.

Taking a hit over the middle when you are playing for a losing team like Detroit and taking a hit over the middle playing for the cowboys knowing that you will be playing for a competitive team and possibly signing a long term deal at seasons end are 2 different things.  This trade will help the cowboys offense, does that mean they'll win anything.......we'll see about that.

they have 9 draft picks left:

2nd

3rd - Browns pick

2 4th's - det pick (acquired last year) and there own

5th - from Tenn for pacman being suspended

6th - from miami

2 7th's- det pick and there own

 

with a roster already stacked with talent...how many picks do they really need?

oh i forgot about dallas' pick in the 5th so that is a 2nd a 3rd (browns) 2 4th's (one being probably the first pick in the 4th) 2 5th's (tenn) 6th (miami) 2 7th's (det). plus with the losses of Julius Jones and Reeves (starting CB for the texans), they will probably get a decent compensatory pick (late 4th) so that will be 10 picks on an already loaded team not to mention the only pick they will really miss (1st rounder) nets them a top WR that could not be had with a late first round pick in the 20's. not to mention the eagles were in serious talks with the lions and they would have been in a bidding war with Philly in the offseason if they waited so they kept a good WR away from a divisional rival...can't see how this was not a good move for both teams unless Roy comes down with a serious injury

my bad andar.  so much for that theory.  i just think it was a weird move but it should help the offense.  He's an upgrade over Crayton.  whatever, i dont even really give a shit.

Dallas still won't win a playoff game this year...and probably hurt themselves with that trade.  Too many clowns on that team.

With the proven track record of draft picks the Lions will be a serious threat. Strong foundation with Kitna, Calvin Johnson, and Rudi Johnson all they need now is a TE, another WR, five offensive lineman, 4 defensive lineman, 2 linebacker, 2 cb, the two safety, new coaches. This team will win the Super Bowl within three years and look at the trade as a turning point. Not enough playmaker on the Dallas team, at best at 6-10 team they are clearing rebuilding for the future.
