I'd like to know some opinions.

Mine is no question Aaron Rodgers. Man won a superbowl in his 4th year starting, likely going again this year (possibly with a perfect season) with plenty of years left in his career.

very very tough question killer...one i dont know if i can seriously answer.  i do think a rod has more talent around him where as peyton made his into talent.  not that rodgers has not to a degree of course.

i also think if you look at this years colts record and team compared to the last 10 years with peyton...nothing shows his value to the team and nfl more.  i mean its sickening.  so after saying that, i would maybe say peyton today.  but rodgers is just so damn good its hard.  but would say petyon in a coin flip.

    Good question,  I'd say Peyton.

Rodgers is young and he's going to keep getting better.

smartbets - It's not even close? Are you kidding me? Peyton Manning has won 1 super bowl and is a .500 qb in the playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers may break many records this season and the ultimate perfect season is still far away but a distinct possibility, but it's not even close? hmmm

    Explain how it isnt close???

How many times did Manning have home-field in the playoffs and not make it to the Championship??  A few

How many times did Manning lead his team in 3 road games in the playoffs as a #6 seed???  NONE

Packers have the worst ranked defense in the league right now

Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark when the Colts were in their prime were better than Jennings and Finley

While Manning was a great game caller and controlling the game, he was a statue back there.

I like the fact when defenses somehow cover all the wrs, Rodgers runs for the big 1st down.

Rodgers is on pace, and has the ability to do something very special the next few years.

The Packers are very young and a very close team.  These core players arent going to leave.

This is only Rodgers 4th season, YES 4th SEASON as a starting QB.  He is the favorite to win his 2nd superbowl already

Manning was not putting up numbers like this his 1st 4 seasons.

    Mannings numbers:

    1st year 56.7% comp 3739 yds 26 td 28 ints

    2nd yr 62.1% 4135 26-15

    3rd yr 62.5 4413 33-15

    4th yr 62.7 4131 26-23

Rodgers is BLOWING THOSE STATS AWAY

    1st year 63.6 4038 28-13

    2nd 64.7 4434 30-7

    3rd 65..7 3922 28-11 in only 15 games

    4th 72.3% 3168 31-4 in only 11 games so far

I dont see how it can be Manning???

Even in his prime, Mannings numbers arent even close to what Rodgers has done and is doing.

Plus, Manning was doing this, with atleast 50% of his game indoors, on turf, in perfect conditions.

Imagine playing 4 games a year in weather below 30 and snow and wind.

If Rodgers stays healthy, he could turn into one of the best, if not the best ever, if he continues to put up games like he has been doing.

Scary part is, he is only going to get better

Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark were better threats than Rodgers has.  Those are 3 hall of fame players.

You telling me that Jennings, Nelson and Jones will ALL be in the hall of fame.

Manning HAD better weapons than Rodgers

Rodgers and the Pack are very overrated right now,

You are right...17 in a row in the NFL....they are very overrated

11-0 this year and 8-3 ATS....this team gets way too much credit

GB had the ball for 10 minutes, yes 10 minutes in the 1st half, and still scored 27 points

Explain???  People said Rodgers has better weapons.  I wish Rodgers could have Harrison, Wayne and Clark lining up every week     With a running back like Edge James back there as well

they were going three and out every possession ... hows that making your case.

All the stats you are listing are why they are overrated ... statistically they aren't as good as their record, and certain contributing factors to their success aren't sustainable.

3 and out every possession???  They had 2 possessions and only ran 8 plays.  The first possesion was 5 plays and was hauled because 2 flags and a dropped 2nd and 3rd down pass.  The second drive was flagged again and another 3rd down drop.

It was not Detroit stopping them.

Look what happened when GB stopped dropping the ball

First of all Clark and Wayne are debatable HOF and also a lot of that is because they had Manning throwing them the ball.

My main point is that being in the HOF is about longevity ... Rodgers could still have better weapons this year than peyton in his prime even if they don't end up in the HOF.

Plus the depth of weapons for Rodgers is much greater.

Or look what happened when Delmas houston and suh were out of the game and the lions were demoralized by self inflicted wounds and thug players costing them points and getting ejected.

Also i'm pretty sure GB ran more than 8 plays in first half .. their yards per play wasn't pretty.

8 Plays in the 1st quarter.  Had the ball 10 minutes only the 1st half.

Well I'm off to sleep. I just think the packers are a very good team. Not a special team that deserves to go undefeated. As for Rodgers this year, great numbers but against who?

Like i said he hasn't faced a top 10 defense all year, lions were arguable the best defense he faced and they shut him down for a half until they got demoralized and lost a few key players in secondary.

i mean honestly... i love Rodgers, he's gonna be great... but at this point in his career, he is really not even a fragment of what Manning was in his prime... the guy completely redefined what it means to be a game-managing QB...

if you don't immediately understand this fact, you're just another fan shooting off a fan opinion... please just stop with these ridiculous hypotheticals!
