It wasn't out of the limits of the game, technically it was a clean hit, just before the dude got the ball. Didn't go helmet to helmet thankfully or dive at his knees

Scalabrine, I usually enjoy reading your posts, but I must disagree with you here. I don't remember anyone making excuses for Bertuzzi, what he did is borderline criminal and was a total cheap shot as well.
Regardless of color, a cheap shot is a cheap shot. If you throw one, you're a thug.
Bertuzzi was never regarded as a THUG.....of course the proper protocol is to ISOTLATE the incident....then forget about it. ESPN doesn't even bring that crap up. But every other month we get to see Kermet Washington blast Rudy T in the mouth.

I would suggest that he was instructed by the coaches to put an early hit on the receiver. It's an old school tactic which our teams used all of the time.
