you ppl who want to hedge are just plain retarded!!!!! 

its only $200, nothing major.  this is what gambling is about.  Its pretty much saying hey, I'll give you the falcons tonight at +7300 on the ml tonight instead of the +550 or whatever the books have.  no way you turn that down! 

you guys remember the 16-0 pats, well 18-0 pats coming into the superbowl, against a team that made it through the wildcard?  pats -13, you remember, so why cant the falcons win?  they have a chance.

and all the others saying walk away with the guaranteed $1000 or whatever, if he wanted $1000 or so, he would have just put the 1st two teams on, which I'm sure paid prob at least 20-1 or in that neighborhood.

I'm more conservative in my approach to gambing, but I think you have to hedge this. Yes if you lose its only 200, but you are walking away from guaranteed money. Not taking a free $2,000 is just as bad as losing a $2,000 bet. yes theres a chance you can hit the final leg of this and get a huge payday, but the odds are pretty slim. Good luck with whatever you decide to do

Retarded? I think not. Simple difference in opinion. You might think Atl will win tonight then it would make sense to let it ride. But I for one dont think they win. So 2 grand is 2 grand, take it and move on to the next one. Will you still have the same opinion if NO blows ATL out of the water and the game is over in the 1st qtr. Who will be the retard then?

i wouldnt hedge if i was risking $200.  maybe thats me, but i wouldnt have put the falcons in it if i didnt think they had a chance either.

Dude about 8 Falcons were MIA this morning partying their ass off in the French Quarter. I live in New Orleans and was privy to this by the bartenders that hooked them up. Saints Slaughter hedge your bet.

I guess the point is its really not about the dollar amount, its just if you think ATL has a good shot of winning. But they are 6-1 dogs for a reason so the odds makers give them like a 18% chance to win. I think its more even than that but still a very slim chance of the victory. It is football though anything can happen.

Exactly how I feel. I think walking away from guaranteed money is just as good as losing money. If you like to bet just for the hell of it and the rush then go ahead and ride it out. But I think that if you are trying to profit over the course of the season, it would be a poor business decision not to hedge the bet. The reward doesnt justify the risk in my eyes.

I dont think the people here care whether he actually made the bet or not. He posted it before the games with a plausible writeup and gave forum members an opportunity to consider and follow.

I for one bet the Rams and Panthers ML parlay just because of this thread. $40 to win $510. I had no opinion on either game before this thread.

He hit the first two sizable ML plays.

He deserves credit.
