    The Bengals had the right approach (31-17) to beating the 49ers. Yes Jimmy, Deebo and Trent were out (offensive players) but that leaky secondary was exposed (266) but they ran on them too (134 yards) and Burrow gashed them for 43 yards on keepers.

    Can Lamar dulplicate that? Unlike others, I see a lot of progress by Lamar in the pocket. The Ravens can match if not surpass the 49er physicality but LJ doesn't have the Bengal receivers. Should be a good one nonetheless.

    @Buffalobob89074

     Yes, a very good passing QB can take advantage of any weaknesses.  But at this point I have SF secondary as very good with only 4 units clearly better and 1 or 2 about the same.

    It is a far different scheme with LJ as the QB than Burrow.  SF main weakness, if any, on defense is their run defense and BLT has a slightly better running game than CIN.

    But if SF gets out to a decent lead and LJ is forced to throw from behind against SF it will not be as easy as it seems.

    What good team have the Ravens beat this year?

    I'm thinking the Ravens have a good D but maybe ranked higher because of the teams they have played.  49ers have a good run D can you trust Lamar to make the clutch throws on the road on the other side of the coast?

    Maybe the under is the way to go!?!!?

    Maybe a 21-10 type game?

    First reaction to the opening spot at 5.5 was that it's 2 points too tall.

    Just my .02...knock 'em dead next week!

    According to dvoa(which accounts for sos), the Ravens D is #2 at -18.7%.

    If you want to play the angle "who have they played?", you can't leave the Niners out of the conversation.

    Per dvoa, the Niners have had the #25 schedule, the Ravens #15.

    Should be a good game. I don't think that it's a walk in the park, but that's just me. But the OP is on em at -5.5, and his record speaks for itself. Even though his picture is a Niner graphic, he's a good capper.

    65% of the tickets are on the Niners, the line hasn't moved yet. That's where we are on a Tuesday. I'm sure that there are many more layers to the onion to unpeel until Sunday.

    Thanks for the dvoa sos.  Looking back it seems they have had similar opponents.  I guess what stood out to me was how the 49ers handled the eagles and cowboys....maybe those teams just aren't that good..dallas fan here...just hoping it's a good game.

    Ive read all of your posts i think Jimmy. You arent just a fan but why wouldnt you be excited about your team when they are dominant.

    I would lean baltimore here because i think 5.5 is just too much. 3.5 is where i lined this game, but we know the niners are certainly capable of boat racing anyone.

    For me, the biggest factor in this game is going to be Baltimores defense vs SF offense. I think ravens may have the best defense in the league to stop the niners attack as they are good vs rush and pass.

    I am looking for Baltimore to run the ball and chew up the clock and make it ugly. If they cant do that and it turns into a shootout i think they stand no chance. Ravens need to keep this like 24-20 or less

    Here's another way of looking at sos if it's not by a metric of some sort.

    The Niners play in the nfc west. They are a combined 28-28.

    The afc north is 35-21.

    Believe it or not, the Cleveland Browns have wins vs both the Niners and Ravens. The #1 and #2 teams in dvoa.

    Any given Sunday

    @JimmyGape

     Purdy had 4 TD passes on Sunday, 3 were 30 yards wide open. He's a good QB' but 15 quarterbacks in the nfl could do that with the Niners. Look what happened when they had a couple OL injuries He struggled. Shanahan should be NFL MVP

    I don't think the Lions would be the #1 seed even if the 49ers lose and Lions win.  They would have the same record but 49ers have the better conference record.

    What is the injury status of 3 of SF's Dlinemen: Armsted, Hargrave, and Davis?

    Could affect their ability to shutdown the Ravens' run attack?

    @JimmyGape

     Man Jimmy, seems like there's some Raven fans & east coasters in here talking about the niners NOT covering the 5.5. You better pray that Edwards, Hill, & Jackson can run the ball because i promise you this, they will NOT succeed by the air this game. Get ready for Lamar to show you why he couldn't hold Brock Purdy's Jockstrap. Give me the 9ERS -5.5 LARGE!!!

    P.S. KEEP HATING ON THEM 9ERS!!!

    the mccaffrey wide open td, he had major pressure, felt it, and rolled out and found an open cmc.  It was extremely impressive wide open or not, the way he felt the pressure, rolled out and extended the play.  Simpletons will just say he was wide open, but people that understand football and people that have common sense and are objective know that was a hell of a play by Brock.  And the back shoulder throw to deebo was extremely impressive

    all questionable.  My only concern in this game.  Az ran all over them.  Still taking the niners, but would feel much better if they play

Unlike others, I see a lot of progress by Lamar in the pocket. The Ravens can match if not surpass the 49er physicality but LJ doesn't have the Bengal receivers. Should be a good one nonetheless.

    Secondary has been much better and cb charvarious ward has been playing at an all pro level.  Shut down aj brown and Metcalf and had 2 ints including a pick 6 last week
