It was dribble said the games were rigged so why cap, early in the thread.
And again, If you check my post history I did not make up the motivation angle for Philly vs NO in hindsight, I said exactly that in my week 6 picks which included Philly in a blowout, posted before the game. So there goes that argument. It wasn't spinning after the fact.
The point I'm very clearly and effectively making is that a lot of people who capped last night's game just based on recent results on a still young season and lost, are now saying that the game is rigged when in fact all that happened was they had a return to last years form as a bumbling bunch of losers and their center was out and their rookie RB fumbled and basically, football happened and not a conspiracy.
I dont care about who is better overall I care about the particular situation at hand and picking individual games on the right side of the number on a consistent basis.
. New Orleans is probably not better and yes the Saints needed guys like Snead and Ingram to step up and to get a bit of luck with turnovers to win, but that's what they got, and for a team that still has a good coach, great QB, great homefield advantage and needs to save their season vs a team that made a miracle turnaround by beating mediocre teams and with their catalyst on offense a bit iffy health wise I would take the 3 points every time.

I am pretty sure my record speaks for itself.
2 strait years of over 70% posted winners in NFL and NBA and here is my year to date for this years NFL.
I give winners all the time buddy, through proper handicapping.
What gets me so mad is people saying its fixed to the point of a kicker hitting the upright on a missed field goal at the end of a game.
Is hockey fixed every time a player hits the crossbar ????
Grow up guys, if you think its fixed, your not a good handicapper. Vegas owns you for that reason, no other.

Week #2 4-8 - 5 Moons
Week #3 6-1 +19 Moons

Week #4 3-4 +1 Moons
Week #5 2-3-2 -7 Moons
Week #6 1-0 +5 Moons

Don't the Falcons always struggle against the Saints? This isn't even the biggest upset of the year. The line was 3 for a reason and you got trapped. Plain and simple.

NO it's not rigged. Not at the level you think. It's in the leagues best interest to both not fix games and prevent fixing on a lower level to protect the integrity of the game. If you got a cash printing machine, why would you make counterfeits? How many broke behind ex-players are out there? If the game is fixed don't you think at least one of them would sing just for a hot meal and another 15 minutes in the spotlight? Human beings just isn't competent enough to keep conspiracies of this magnitude.
or
YES, it is rigged. If you bet: You're a mark. Marks gets got so you should stop.
Anyways, I do think sites like Draftkings and Fanduel is rigged. Again those sites print money, why would they do that. recent news about that employee using said data to play on their competitor's site is the very thing they needed to nip in the bud or they risk losing the trust of their clients.
But a part of me, the tinfoil hatted part of my brain still think that yes you can win money on those sites, but they hold the data and statistics of every player. It would be very easy to make fake entries on fake based on those data in-order to "eat up" or "take up" a winning spot. It'd be very hard proof outside of 3rd party audits and it would still be difficult if the fake entries have very realistic account information.
Finally, you should only bet by fading when public consensus is over 70% and you'll win 67% of the time. :tinfoilhat:

Hey what's up man, I enjoyed your response. In no way am I trying to say there aren't refs that might take payments to influence games. You would have to be completely naive to believe that. If you were a part time ref making $30k a season and some cat offers you $100K to find some extra penalties in the game, 9.5 out of 10 us would do it.
But many people who cry "fix" imply that the entire game and league, and all of pro sports is choreographed. That is simply not possible. Even to suggest a RB would intentionally fumble a ball so his team will lose is borderline ridiculous.
I'm not saying it won't or hasn't happened, but let's examine one of the fumbles last night in the redzone. ATL's Coleman was trying to get a big gain, he was getting tackled and Ellerby or whatever his name is came and punched the ball out. Is that not a great play by Ellerby? Or did Coleman plan that, and him and Ellerby conspired to be in that exact moment at that exact time and have Browner be there waiting to recover it? Millions of ATL backers would claim that to be true. AB-SURD.
I agree with you that you can factor the possible "fix" angle into your plays. And if you truly believe that the fix is in, then by all means you SHOULD consider that in your reasoning. But I've tried that before, and I came to find I had no idea which referree is gonna do what in what situation and I am not interested in researching what ref was where and what did he call in that particular situation.
Any good capper will take emotion into the equation. Human beings make decisions based on emotion. They backwards rationalize it later. This has been proven in study after study. Why did Tomlin call a Bootleg by Vick on 4th and 1 against Baltimore. He said he felt it in his gut. You could see it on his face when they were about to run the play. He thought he was gonna get it. And he didn't. But not one to give up, he dials in the wildcat to finish the SD game. Crazy. That's what emotions do. Many of the ones (not saying you) claiming that the fix is in, are probably the ones making picks based on media influence and basic stats.
If you were on NFL.com yesterday morning, you saw three stories relating to the game. One was about how great the Falcons new Head Coach was. The other was about how great Freeman, the ATL RB is. And the other was about the Saints falling apart, and that they were at the end of the run.
Interesting.
So if you are the average Joe reading those articles, who would you pick that night?
You would take the Falcons of course.
Is there an entity trying to influence the public? You bet. But to suggest that players who work all their lives, and spend years training with their teammates to fulfill their dreams of playing in the Super Bowl to throw away all their hard work and their teammates hardwork for some cash, and to never have any of their teammates who weren't in on it to NOT call them out? That's highly unlikely to say the least. Someone, multiple someones would call BS. Sammy Watkins threw his coach under the bus just yesterday just for not getting passes. He was injured! WTH. Look how players react to the refs for PI penalties, they wouldn't stand for someone on their own team throwing the game. Egos are way too big for that.
Anyone that has been wagering on games for any reasonable amount of time has noticed that stats go out the window in divisional games. Emotion is the name of the game. Why do you think that all the Thursday Night games are divisional matchups. They want good games. They know that divisional games are unpredictable and are likely to be highly charged and have a good finish. Occasionally you'll get the stinker like Houston vs Indy with backup QBs, but in general there's a lot of intensity in divisional games. Those type of games are the only reasons why teams like Washington, Chicago, St Louis and other bottom feeders have any relevance. They may stink, but they will rise up against their rivals.
There were a lot of people on Covers that were on the Saints. And you saw the same reasons being presented: SuperDome. Primetime. That's it. They didn't need any other reasons because they've seen this movie a dozen times. It's those who haven't been paying attention that cry foul at the end of the day.
There's a flow to human behavior. We tend to repeat our mistakes, and our successes. We like the comfort of it all. And the cycle continues. It's a beautiful dance actually.
Anyways, I digress. Good luck everybody!

With that said, the ATL @ NO game (and many others of its kind) have me seriously considering the possibilities.
How is it possible that a professional team that executes thousands of snaps in practice could possibly mess it up so frequently in game time. Conveniently each time it happened ATL was in the red zone.
In addition, I'm not sure how many of you noticed but on one red zone possession, briefly before one of the fumbles a shotgun snap was way above Matt Ryan's head and required a jumping 1 handed catch.
3 red zone turnovers (2 fumbles, 1 turnover on downs). As well as one almost fumble? In addition. On the ToD the snap was fumbled...
The half dozen botched snaps.....could it POSSIBLY be that Atlantas CENTER was hurt and not playing???

For those who think it's rigged, why bother looking at the trends/stats/injuries/etc when you bet? Look at the story line that the NFL: wants to tell and make that wager. And if you believe it's rig, stop betting as you then have no one else to blame but you.
And if you think that it's rig then how come no one has ever come forward to make such a claim that they were in on the fix? Not thousands of game official, not thousands of front office people.

I was not "trolling" as you call it on Fixers thread. I simply opened one of his threads to see what all the fuss was about and was baffled at the absurdity of his comments.
Look guys, you can't teach stupid. Anyone believing games are scripted or the outcomes are predetermined is an absolute moron. That is a fact. Its not a grey area. IT IS BLACK AND WHITE.
If you believe in this crap, you are a moron.
You can believe in Big Foot....Nessy.....Aliens are among us.....because there is a chance these thing could be true!
But please, stop the other madness.

I understand the tendency of people not to read long posts but I am BEGGING that you all read this one and share your thoughts:
To begin, I am now willing to concede that I don't believe each and every NFL game is rigged. I don't believe every Sunday each game has a predetermined outcome. However, I am willing to state that I wholeheartedly believe there has been too many curious happenings throughout PRIMETIME games this year.
- Week 1 Sunday Night: Eli Manning & Tom Coughlin combine for terrible clock management to allow Romo to march down the field and win the game. (Eli Manning a veteran of over a decade made the biggest clock management mistake we've seen in years).
- Week 1 Monday Night: Eagles miss a field goal that was definitely within range in the 4th quarter to take the lead. This is not as strong of an example as there will be to come.
- Week 2 Thursday Night: (This is possibly one of the STRONGEST examples). Peyton Manning has a miserable game only to drive the ball effortlessly on the last drive to tie the game. On KC's ensuing drive, the unthinkable happens. Jamaal Charles fumbles the ball and it is returned for a Denver TD and a victory. If that's not curious enough, here is the kicker: Reid calls a short run to the outside with less than 30 seconds on the clock... He evidently was not trying to score, why not just kneel and send the game to OT? Instead the bonehead play was called and the play results in a Denver win.
- Week 3 Thursday Night: The Redskins who at the time were statistically better than NYG on all major fronts (Total OFF, Total DEF, Rush OFF, Rush DEF, Pass OFF, Pass DEF) visit New York. WAS has a couple of red zone turnovers (including one on a late drive that would have brought the game well within reach). NYG's offense had stalled, however, on the ensuing drive they march down and score a TD with ease. It is at this point the Redskins get the ball back, march down the field with ease and score garbage time points. The emphasis here is not the ease with which they marched down the field. The important note here is the fact that the only time the Redskins actually scored was when it was garbage time.
- Week 4 Thursday Night: BAL visits PITT without their starting QB. A divisional matchup. PITT has numerous opportunities to win this game. They miss two game clinching field goals. BAL then drives down the field with less than a minute on the clock and scores a field goal to send it to OT. In OT Pitt goes for it twice on 4th down. Both play calls are miserable, they ran left with Vick from Shotgun form when BAL had literally every defender spread on the line, making an outside run impossible. The other play was a pass when BAL had press coverage and an unloaded box (making it easy to run). Shortly afterwards BAL drives down the field to win on a field goal.
- Week 4 Monday Night: DET visits SEA. DET is missing their defensive star Levy as well as one of their star DT's. Russell Wilson who has run all over enemy defenses only runs for 40 yards that game. That seems like a lot for a QB but without Levy (not to mention a few defensive lineman injuries throughout the game for DET) in the game he could have easily doubled that number. DET drives down the field and only for Calvin Johnson to fumble resulting in a touchback on a BLOWN CALL BY THE OFFICIAL. DET literally lost that game on a mistake.
- Week 5 Thursday Night: IND visits HOU and dominates them early. The game is hardly even competitive. HOU benches their starting QB after the first quarter and puts in Hoyer. Hoyer brings the game within reach by showing one of the most impressive QB performances I have personally seen in a long while. Hoyer and company are driving for a last minute drive to tie up the game. Under pressure Hoyer unleashes a long ball that was literally the stupidest throw I've seen all year. The ball never had any hope to be completed and was thrown perfectly to the defender resulting in an INT. Conveniently this occurred to stall a red zone drive.
- Week 5 Monday Night: SD hosts PITT. As SD is driving to score once again PITT intercepts Rivers and takes it back for a TD. SD later takes the lead on a late TD drive kicking the ball back to PITT with a little over 2 minutes on the clock. Mike Vick and the Steelers offense have been miserable all game receive the ball. Vick methodically drives down the field looking like a top 5 QB. With clock expiring PITT runs the ball in and wins the game.
- Week 6 Thursday Night: ATL visits NO. The Saints score on their first possession. ATL then drives down the field into field goal range with an excellent kicker and decides that on 4th down they will go for it in the first quarter instead of taking the 3 points cutting the lead to 4. The snap is fumbled (fumbled snap #1) and they lose possession. Later the Saints block a punt and return it for a TD, the score is now 14-0. ATL drives down, scores a TD, 14-7. It is at this point that the NO offense stalls multiple times and punts back to ATL. ATL moves the ball with ease, however, each time they reach a certain point on the field (between NO 10-40 yard line) they turn the ball over. The first time was a fumble by Coleman. The second time was fumbled snap #2. It is also worth noting that ATL would have had a 3rd fumbled snap had Matt Ryan not made an extremely athletic play to catch a ball way over his head with one hand. The game progresses, NO continues to maintain a healthy lead and ATL only scores each time the Saints go up by double digits.
For the record, I am not posting this because I am upset about some bad beats. I have benefited from these strange games as much as I have lost.

I don't need to google to know who he is. He bets on games, just like Pete Rose, to go from that to NFL games are rigged is giant leap of conclusion.

whenever there is money involve there will always be corruptions.
a lot of people dont understand the concept of fixed games. not everybody needs to know about it. not all games are fixed. refs can bet on the games and alter the spread. coaches, players etc..in my opinion its not script. cuz all it takes is 1 person to alter the game. and it happens.
want a fine example?
remember the game when giants played cowboys? i think it was week 1 or 2.
giants was up with like under 2 mins left. about to score. and everybody was talking how dumb eli was not to take the sack instead threw the ball away to stop the clock. ended up kicking a field goal. then dallas scored a TD under a min left to win the game? u guys remember that game? there was lots of thread saying how dumb the coach and eli was?
nothing unusual right?
well the very next day. on twitter, another player said he spoke to the RB of giants. and the coach said NOT TO SCORE A TD! it was on front page of yahoo.
why would u NOT score a td? it would of seal the deal. it makes perfect since now why eli threw the ball away instead of taking the sack to kill time.
and didnt someone say the giants owner are known for illegal gambling? take it for whats its worth. if u dont think games can be fixed you're an idiot.
