MVP's don't have shifts(they have breathers), they don't share loads(they carry them). Period. So just stop with your ridiculous argument, you know you are wrong, but still trying to argue.l

Hey Einstein,I was talking about Alex Ovechkin with Ranger, I still feel Jacobs is an awesome RB.
You bringing up a Hockey player in the NFL MVP thread, yeah, I am a fuking idiot for not knowing.
I think Jacobs is an awesome Rb also but when you try and throw a RB who is 10th in yards, 17th in carries, 3rd in td's, and shares time as a MVP canidate I will call you out.

Rivers(If SD was 11-4 right now it would be him at #1), Warner, Portis, D. Williams, and Brees but their teams are borderline playoff teams and DW splits time so can' give it to them.
Top 3 RB's
After AP it's hard to say, probably make a case for 6 RB's right about now, next year maybe LT comes back to top 3

Electric,Harrison a great Lb for them,Woodley a good one too.The guy that puts fear into offensive players is #43 Troy Polameau, he there heat seeking missle for them.AP is a monster for the Vikes,no doubt.Peyton recently, last 8 weeks has looked like Peyton, offseason surgery got him off to a slow start, but last week versus the Jaguars he was unreal.

I'm a huge Colts fan and would normally side with Manning but you can't overlook what Collins has done for the Titans this year. Laugh if you will, but give it some serious thought...#1 seed in a tough AFC. Sure, they've flourished with a terrific running game and tough D, but where would they be with Vince Young at the helm? JMO

What he did with the Saints when the Saints had: a bunch of no-name wideouts and tight ends, 17 starters on IR, and a sub-par defense......
.............is unreal.
Going for 9-7 with that to work with.
WOW.
Yes he has good numbers but failed miserably on the road when it team really needed it. Played dreadful at the Bucs and Bears, two games his team NEEDED to have and he didn't deliver. Had 5 picks combined in the 2 games...

Guys Peyton is hands down the NFL MVP. If the award is MOST VALUABLE to his team. How can anyone argue it is not Peyton? There have been games this year he SINGLE HANDEDLY carried the entire team on his back. For anyone who watched the game at Pitt, at San Diego, and at Jacksonville, you would know what I am talking about. Clearly Peyton has the ability to come up huge for his team in key road games. Compare that to numbers of a guy like Brees (combined 5 int's in the two games at the Bucs and Bears, 2 games his team NEEDED to have) and it is clear how valuable he is. Not to mention the Colts have had NO running game all year, a completely banged up offensive line, the decline of Marvin Harrison as well as injuries to other receivers. Look there are clearly other candidates to win the award, but to me its impossible to say they have had more of an impact on their team like Peyton.
Comparing him to other candidates such as Matt Cassell and Phillip Rivers, people need to look at the fact how much help these two guys have around them.
While Cassell may not have the star RB, he has an overall decent running game, two GREAT receivers such as Welker and Moss and an awesome offensive line.
Phillip Rivers has a GREAT amount of help with him an offense. Yes LT has been slightly banged up but he is still a good back. Throw in Gates to the mix with a decent group of recievers, all the surrounding players are there for him to be good.
Chad Pennington has done an AMAZING job turning that team around and coming from a Jets fan, I am happy to see him do well, even if it is in Miami. The thing with Chad is that he is asked nothing more but to manage the game. Rarely this year has he had to win a game by himself. He has done a fantastic job of that dont get me wrong, but MVP candidates need to go out there and win a game by themselves when asked, and Chad simply doesnt need to do that.
When it comes to Michael Turner, he is definitely up there. To make the turnaround the team has had, it would be tough not to mention his name. But fact is, people were even talking Matt Ryan for mvp and he was a legitimate candidate. How can you judge who is more valuable when it comes to Ryan or Turner? To me. both are equally as VALUABLE and the team would be nowhere without either of them. With that being said, I dont think you can pick one of them for league MVP. They are both crucial to their team but there are other candidates(such as Peyton) who have done it all with little help.
In the past people could say the Colts had a lot of offensive talent and it was true. But given this year with all injuries and struggles the team has faced, and to have them at 11-4, winning 8 straight is nothing short of amazing. The key reason for that success? Peyton Manning.

Philip Rivers doesn't have as much help as you would think, LT the Chargers are 28th in rushing yards this season, the Colts are 31st. Rivers has about as much help as Manning does on offense.
Chargers - LT, Sproales, Gates, V. Jackson, C. Chambers
Rivers has had 9 games with a QB rating over 100, 11 with it over 95. Rivers has completed passes to 11 different players 3 players have over 50 receptions, nobody has over 60 on the offense. 9 players have 10 or more receptions.
Indy - Harrison, Wayne, Clarke, Gonzalez, Addai, and Rhodes.
Manning has completed passes to 13 different players, 5 of those players have 3 or less recpetions, 4 players have over 50, and Wayne and Clarke have 81 and 71, 8 players have 10 or more receptions.
They both are spreading the ball around, both have no running game but Manning still has more help on offense. Rivers has been the only constant on that team all year, he's having a MVP season and if the Chargers had 11 or 12 wins he would get it hands down.

Your last point is true, I definitely cannot argue with it. But fact is he will not get the votes on a .500 team. Also the O-lines need to be considered. Chargers have a pretty decent offensive line while the Colts O-line has been banged up all year, especially with Saturday missing a main portion of the season. Throw in the fact Harrison has had a HUGE decline this year, Wayne and Clark have been hurt at times, Addai has been a non factor and you will see that for the season as a whole, Rivers has had more help. Like you said yourself if the Chargers were at 11, 12 wins, Rivers could be right up there, but not on a team who will finish with 8 wins.
