He is a horse , he could be a feature full time back,but in this day and age,even great backs like A.P have guys who share the load(Chester Taylor).Do you think L.T misses Michael Turner who gave him a rest,with all due respect to Darren Sproles he is no Michael Turner.

AP has over 3 times as many carries as Taylor 342-97 that's giving him a rest.

That is sharing the load, and MVP's don't have players sharing loads, they carry them.

Ward picked up a lot of those carries due to nagging injuries to Jacobs.I promise you preparing for Jacobs if he is playing or not,gives defensive coaches nightmares.I am a Ravens fan,and nobody did to them what he did until he got hurt.The Ravens were actually getting back in the game until a pick 6 put it to rest.

Shrimp you can like Jacobs and thats fine. But the discussion is about who actually is going to win the award. And Jacobs will not get one vote of the 50. I promise you .

still a Peyton fan for MVP, little surprised I have yet to see Chad Pennington at least in the conversation. He deserves some consideration, and he'll get some votes, deservedly so. #2 ranked passer, leading a 1-15 team to 10, maybe even 11 wins and a chance to win the AFC east (are you kidding), after being kicked to the curb by a division rival, the New York Jets. He's been a true leader, makes very few mistakes, and has proven to be a winner. MVP is not all stats, it's also intangibles, being a leader, much like Collins has done at Tenn. Don't want to hear about hypotheticals i.e., if he were there, if someone else was there, talk to me about reality, facts. Team chemistry can change for the worse with a  statistically better player. Seen it before.
 
Yes, Peyton will win, he deserves it, but kudos to the Penningtons and the Collins, whose expectations were at best suspect, but whose performances for the year can only be described with one word this year, WINNERS. Mia. is on the brink of NFL history, the single greatest turnaround in NFL HISTORY! Thank you Chad Pennington!! You won't break my heart for slingin' a little mud in NY on Sunday!

R you serious?I hope not,when he is healthy,he is one scary back.He is the best big back in football sense Christian Okoye....the Nigerian Nightmare...The Giants won't go far if he goes down.with him they are Top 5,,,without him Top 10..maybe.

Haha I admit I'm a Jets fan but the end of your post was pretty funny. Honestly I am happy to see Chad doing well. He didn't deserve the wrap he got in New York. He has had a fantastic year and prob would be 2-3 on my mvp list behind Peyton.

Yes he is a good back and is important to the Giants success nobody is arguing that. But this thread titled 'NFL MVP' and Jacobs is not in the discussion...

If he gets hurt you will see how valuable he is to there success,Ward and Bradshaw or good backs saying he's good,is shorting him.The Ravens said he was the best back they saw all year,that is good enough for me.He  ran on the Ravens and nobody does that to them,i know Ward and Bradshaw had big games against them ,but only after he had ripped our D apart.

In 2008, A guy shares lots of carries but still can't stay healthy?  Not a MVP.  I would be shocked if he got 2 votes, some NY homer could vote for him, but I highly doubt 2 will.

I can almost guarantee Jacobs will not get one vote. Not one serious sports writer has even MENTIONED his name. Eli was mentioned a couple weeks ago and justifiably so, but not anymore...

People who run like him,and the'' Barbarian'', Marion Barber hurt the other guys as much as they hurt themselves..Chioce is a good back for Dallas ,but he is not Marion Barber .Ward is a good back ,Jacobs is on another level.

So know we are going to compare MVP canidates with players that play the same position on the same team now?  Jacobs is on a different level than Ward?  OK, so he should get MVP voes now because of it?  Nope.

Shrimp I am sorry but you do not know what you are talking about. Yes he is valuable to his team but in no way, shape, or form is he even close the mvp of the ENTIRE NFL!! And no he will not get one vote. Find me an article which even brings his name into question. You dont know what you are talking about.

L.T off year,A.P maybe,Westbrook hurt to  much,LJ doghouse to often,Portis hurt to much,Barber hurt to much.what RB is more valuable to his team?They are 2 different teams with #27 on the field,with back to the Super Bowl..Fire &Wind won.t get them there.......Valuable...

Well I agree as far as running backs go he is definitely up there. As far as most valuable running backs so far, I would take Peterson(even with his fumbling problems) DeAngelo, and Wesbtrook over him, to name a few. But I would say he is in the upper echelon of running backs yes.

Just stop with the Jacobs for a MVP canidate already, it's ridiculous now.

AP - Maybe?  Are you kidding, maybe?  How about no question yes.

Westbrook isn't hurt as much as people make him out to be he has played 13 games this year, started 15 last year, and 14 the year before that, not to mention he is the only RB and main offensive weapon for the Eagles, and had the ball(rush/rec) in his hands on average 300 times a year for the past 3 years.

How can you say Portis, Westbrook, and Barber are hurt too much when Jacobs missed 2 1/2 games this year and only has to carry 70% of the work load?

kansas, have to say Matt Ryan has surpassed anyone's expectations, though clearly he's very talented, he's managed to adapt to the NFL much faster than most QB'S, let's face it, it's the most difficult position in the game to learn and be successful at. If I could get a "futures" bet on him one day either being an MVP, or leading his team to a Super Bowl win (or both), I would take it in a NY minute.
