If the 2nd game of the season changed your season, you were never going far to begin with. Jesus Christ, is was game 2 of a 16 season, and the Chargers looked like crap the entire year. Like people say, you are what your record is; the Chargers haven't played better then an 8-8 team all year. It will not be easy to beat the Chargers but I do think they will be 1 and done, depending on who that opponant is.
Rivers is having the best all around season stat wise of any other QB and deserved the Pro Bowl but Cassell over Cutler? Yeah, no.

second game of the season completely changed their season and theyve had a lot of games lost in final minutes or seconds of fourth quarter...with what rivers did to TB D yesterday and how he has carried SD back he deserves MVP..... i mean if not MVP he at least shoulda got into the pro bowl over favre and even cutler in my opinion...cassel and rivers shoulda been in over favre and cutler.... and for everyone saying they cant believe an 8-8 team will be getting into the playoffs over a possible 11-5 team dont forget the chargers if they make it to playoffs at 8-8 did beat those possible playoff teams with better records, the jets and the patriots, pretty badly... like roughly 20 points...and the chargers being 8-8 have lost to ind, atl, pitt, miami, carolina, den (bad call).. all playoff teams by a total 0f 20 points and all coming in the final plays of the game mostly
Look I think the Chargers are dangerous in the playoffs but in NO WAY does Rivers deserve mvp on an 8-8 team. Fine LT has been banged up but that offense has SO much more talent then the Colts do. It is really night and day.

I think I am going to switch by pick from Peyton to the entire Bears special teams. The team is pure garbage and get lucky breaks all game via special teams so to me, they are my new mvp selection.

Id have to agree. Cassell has been MUCH better then expected and is a really good story, but he has the pieces around him to do well. Still give him tons of credit for getting his team this far...

Tenn. still had a good team when VY went down, but honestly, if it wasn't for Collins they absolutely would not be where they're at today. The thing with Kerry Collins is that there are probably a half dozen or so QB's that would have the Titans in the same situation as Collins does if you interchange them.
Collins on the Colts, the Colts would be quite a bit worse, but Manning on the Titans and you are looking at hands down the Superbowl favorite.
AP, is having a great season, escpecially with no real QB, but they have no real chance to advance.
Eli - His stats just aren't there, and he did struggle without his main weapons for 2 games, would Peyton rise up and play better in those games?
D. Williams is having an awesome year but I can't give the MVP award to a player that splits time at his position.

Also, when you say "without him" you know you are substitatuting another quality RB in his place, not just a RB from the offense.
