Well...it doesn't just fill a little bit of the airtime. When he wins...he fills a large portion of the airtime.

As for MY argument...I say that Tebow sucks and is a terrible quarterback because I watch his games, I see every break he's gotten and he, simply, sucks.

He's a solid runner. I've never denied him of that. But if you play in the quarterback position...you have to be judged as a quarterback. And, as a quarterback, he SUCKS.

He's a great leader. He should become a coach. Maybe it will become a new trend. I wonder how players would react to a coach who doesn't yell at them. I wonder if that could work.

I just need to know where you stand so I don't speculate.

IIRC the only argument I’ve made about Tim Tebow is that he doesn’t suck, is a good leader, and makes others around him better.

As for the Denver defense: Are they below average, average, above average? Who knows exactly?  But I do know if you’re a good defense you are going to be ranked higher than 20th in the NFL.

Come on man, that 20th ranking dont mean shit.  Go back and take a look at those Tebow quarterbacked games and analyze how that defense played in those wins.  They played a huge role in them.

So it’s not enough that he took over a 1-4 team and lead them to a division title with arguably the worst set of offensive weapons in the NFL and the 20th ranked defense. No, no.  In order to prove he doesn’t suck not only does he have to beat good-great teams with a below average team, but he has to have good stats against them as well.

Yeah, and if Tebow didn’t suck so much I’m sure the Broncos would have a first round bye as well.

Also in the games they played against good teams that Denver defense you keep going on and on about averaged giving up 43 points and 414 yards per game.

Once again the “great is the opposite of sucking so if you say a player doesn’t suck you are saying they are great” logic.

That makes as much sense as saying “black is the opposite of white so if you say your car isn’t black that means you are saying it’s white.”

QBs (especially high profile ones) generally get more credit than they deserve for wins and more blame than they deserve for loses.  This is the way of the NFL.

Also to the media the credit belongs to whoever the better story dictates it belongs to.

Tebow was the biggest story in sports and one of the biggest stories in the country.

Almost no one gave a shit about the Denver defense.

The news media is in the business of making money.  They make money by getting better ratings.  Tim Tebow is great for ratings.  It’s really as simple as that.

As for Tebow sucking: I wonder how many QBs who sucked took over below average-terrible 1-4 teams (or worse) and led them to a division title with arguably the worst set of offensive weapons and a defense that ranked 20th in the NFL (or worse).

It their wins Tebow usually had a passer rating over 90 and the defense usually played well.

In their loses Tebow usually played poorly and the defense usually played poorly.

They won and lose as a team.

Without Tebow they don’t make the postseason and without the defense playing better they don’t make the postseaon, IMO.

    Hate Tebow:
Doug Stewart of the two live stews, Rob Parker, Hugh Douglas, Stephen A Smith, Chris Carter, Keyshawn Johnson, Kordell Stewart, Merril Hoge, Jon Ritchie, Phil Simms, Colin Cowherd, Michael Smith, Warren Sapp, Jamie Dukes, Tom Friend, Charles Davis, Mark Schlereth, Michael Fabiano, Rodney Harrison, Andrew Siciliano, Sterling Sharpe, Jason Smith, Joe Theismann, Tom Waddle, Solomon Wilcots, Kevin Blackistone, Bomani Jones, Ray Ratto, Randy Sklar, Doug Gottlieb, Dan Shaughnessy, Roger Lodge, Jalen Rose

    Love Tebow:
Skip Bayless, Michelle Beadle, Charissa Thompson

Damn I live and breathe sports TV and sports period. I listen and watch all of these sports analysts. Therefore, your argument that you hate “all the praise” he is getting on TV does not have any validity. The deep seeded vile hatred for tebow is what created this stupid controversy. When he went 7-1 people would not shut up and just let the man learn to play the position. They had to say mean things never said about a pro athlete before and when he proved them wrong for a few weeks, they kept on pilling on the hate. He was praised by three sports analysts and targeted by thirty-four sports analysts. This wouldn’t even be a story if the hatred for tebow wasn’t so popular and controversial. For some reason hating tebow became popular and skip, beads and CT felt they had to stand up for him. Whether he wins or loses the hate will always create ratings. People like you and the other tebow haters are what keep the tebow topic alive not the tebow believers.

    StraightShooter,

All your argument is proving is that you really haven't watched these football games. If you have...you would know how good the defense has been. You have NO response when I bring up the very few touchdowns that the defense has allowed (1.9 in their last 11 games on average). You have NO response when I bring up that they have allowed 15 or fewer points in 6 of their last 11 games.

If you HAVE seen these games and honestly believe that TEBOW is the reason the Broncos went from 1-4 to 8-8...than this argument is over because you (and probably Rod) seem to be the only one(s) who actually believes that and there is nothing I can say to change your mind.

And I guess I can't say you're wrong because that's your opinion. But you bring up the defenses' stats and say they aren't the reason why the Broncos have won and you see Tebow's stats and somehow come to the conclusion that HE is the reason this team has won. Oh well...

During his winning streak, if you turned on SportsCenter on Sunday for the rest of the day (as well as Monday), all you saw was "Tebow does it again". And yes...I have heard people claiming that he was great. I'm sorry that I don't watch ESPN religiously to know who said it. But what I do know is that side bar on the left side of the screen had Tebow there at all times. Whether it was coming up after they showed highlights of another game or they were talking about him right then. Every time I flipped onto that station...he was the topic of discussion. They broke down his games like no other. Finding the smallest little thing to show how he was "improving" because somehow "improving" means making 2 good throws in a game.

Come on Sparky, he knows tebow sucks. He has seen the games. His only defense now is the defense being ranked poorly and "Tebow" leading Denver to and 8-8 record and division champs. Anyone else that is neutral on this topic can see Tebow has not played well. Hell even Dengerate (a tebow lover opened his eyes ans sees he sucks!)

He's hanging onto straws that are saving his argument and saving face. Can we flat out slap Shooter in the face with his argument that Tebow doesn't suck? No, because he can hang onto the 8-8 record and the defensive rank. His defensive rank point is solid but in the end is like his thread on romo the other day. Yes Romo has the great stats but anyone that watches has seen he has not been a winner in the end. Yes the denver d has given up yardage but anyone that watches can see they have been the reason not Tebow.

These stats are indisputable and we will never be able to win this argument with him but take solice in knowing that Tebow has been awful and without his miracouls breaks has been exposed. Anyone who watches with a decent knowledge of the game knows this just like they know Romo has choked or fucked up in big games!

My argument is proving I haven’t really watched Tebow’s game because I don’t share your opinion that the 20th ranked defense in the NFL is considered good?

That’s about as ignorant as saying someone who doesn’t share your political opinions doesn’t understand the issues.

As for your claim that I have “no response”: that’s simply not true.  I have stated that playing well in some guys doesn’t cancel out looking bad in others.

Case in point:  You say the defense has allowed 15 or fewer points in about half their games with Tebow.  Well guess what, that QB you seem to think sucks had a passer rating over 90 in about half of his games.  I guess that means he is a good QB because we are only concentrating on what supports our case and completely ignoring what contradicts it, right?

Of course that is absurd.  A QB is not judged by half his games in a season just as a defense is not judged by half their games in a season.

As for me believing that Tebow is the reason the Broncos went from 1-4 to 8-8, we have already been over this.  I have stated repeatedly that Tebow is ONE OF the reasons Denver won a division title.  Just as the defense is one of the reasons.  If you disagree then by all means feel free to point out where I claimed Tebow was the sole reason the Broncos won the division.

You don’t appear to be a big fan of facts (and no, considering your own personal opinion as fact doesn’t count), so I know you don’t want to hear this, but here it is anyway:

In Denver’s wins Tebow usually had a passer rating over 90 and the defense usually played well.

In Denver’s loses Tebow usually played poorly and the defense usually played poorly.

They won and lost as a team and without Tebow they wouldn’t have been able to turn their season around just as without the defense playing better they wouldn’t have been able to turn their season around.

You are free to believe whatever you like, but to think the defense is the reason the team turned it around while Tebow played no role is beyond ignorant.

I acknowledged that the defense is part of the reason Denver won the division.  It’s a shame that your rabid hatred of the kid and your pride won’t allow you to do the same for Tebow.

And “take solice” in knowing that a guy you hate with a passion took over a below average-terrible 1-4 team and despite having arguably the worst set of offensive weapons in the NFL and the backing of the 20th ranked defense, he was able to lead that below average team to its first division title in over half a decade.

Sparky had to take all kinds of heat when tebow was catching every break and the defense was lights out. Now that the luck and stellar defense is over what sparky said originally is spot on, "regardless of their wins, tebow still sucks"

That’s about as ignorant as saying someone who doesn’t share your political opinions doesn’t understand the issues.

As for your claim that I have “no response”: that’s simply not true.  I have stated that playing well in some guys doesn’t cancel out looking bad in others.

I will say this in favor of the Tebow haters in this thread: at least none that I can recall have claimed or implied that the reason Tebow was given the starting job was that because his skin color is white and if he was black he wouldn’t have.
