We had a good debate going but if you think there is nothing great about a team that has one of the best defenses in NFL history and went 14-4 this year against one of the toughest schedules in history, then you are in waaaaaay over your head.

Again SD had to travel to Pittsburgh and had basically played 5 playoff games in a row.  They were due to breakdown. Arizona will be playing in warm weather and will be well rested.  I hear what you're saying but I don't think the comparison is exactly on.

Pittsburgh's defense is one of the best of all time in my opinion.  I actually think their defense is underrated.  Their offense is very very average.  Especially without Ward.  And if you can put pressure on Ben then watch out.

If Pitt is only -6.5 i am taking it as soon as my book puts it out.
#1 Defense keeps arizona and warner in check.......

I agree with that, but Warner is just so damn good against the blitz. It's strength on strength. Zona will not run on Pitt, that I believe.

Arizona D is shit, and the Eagles had no run game today, Westbrook was dinged and still had his moments. Pitt will certainly be able to run on Zona, and Ben is way better than McChoke.

I'm not all that sure Pittsburgh will blitz much. They didn't blitz much today and when they did they brought Timmons in. In most situations they lined up Woodley/Harrison on the outside end and just let em go to town.

I think this is way too low.  (-7)  Give the Cards their due they have played great and beaten some good teams soundly.  However, I have never seen an offense that is so predictable be so good. Yeah, the Steelers offense is no juggernaut but they come out and tell you exactly what they are going to do and then do it. This is a powerful team. They make more third down completions than I have ever seen, it is just amazing.  Run, Run Pass move the sticks.   The Ravens knew exactly what they were going to get but were helpless to stop it.
The game may be close but the Steelers cannot conceivably lose.

The real question guys is can the Steelers defense shut down the Zona offense...and I am saying no way no how....if you feel that way, then the plus 7 is the only logical bet to make

 

the way Warner and Zonas offense clicking right now....no one is shutting them down completely....so heres a scenario

Pitt could be up 14 late and with that offense you always have a chance at backdoor cover or push

I've only been on this site for a short time and enjoy it for the most part but what's up with all the homers on here? It's a wagering site. I just don't understand why people are littering up threads defending their teams when every NFL team has multiple fan message boards where they can all go and discuss how great their team is. I'm a huge Cowboys fan, but when I come here to see how you guys are betting, it just seems like it would be counter-productive to tell you how stupid you all are for not liking/disrespecting my team. I will rarely even bet on Cowboy games because it's hard for me to be objective about them sometimes.
It's frustrating when you want to find out as much info about a game as possible and you have to sift through a lot of bs from a guy who probably still has  a Cardinal's comforter on his bed.

just out of curiosity - for those who might think that the steelers just roll over arizona, how is this game's matchup (at this point), so much crazier than those against other NFC foes they've played this year, like Philly (L 15-6) and the Giants (L 21-14)????

again, other than "this is the super bowl" argument, how is 7 not a ton of points?

pitt -6.5 and 47 at mine.  will hines ward play? i think that is a VERY GOOD side call on vegas at the moment. right where i would figure it to be.  liking the under against the 1st or 2nd best defense in the league.  veteran team who has been there before against a very good offense who has an old qb and a coupla young receivers.  should be a good game.  leaning under.

I am saying in todays parity laden NFL...there are NO great teams w exception of Pats last few years possibly...as far as great dynastic like juggernaughts like early 90s cowbous, late 80s 49ers...anybody beats anybody any given sunday and that includes the Super Bowl

 

guys like andermac are trying to paint the Steelers as something they are not ......thats all.....these teams are a lot closer in talent and ability than someof the posters in this thread are leading people to believe...Im saying the 7 point line is a joke for that reason

How am I painting them something they are not? All I've done is come with facts and analysis relavent to the game and you've ignored almost all of them and have come back with some crap like 'they won't stop this offense" or "this offense is unstoppable"

Yeah the guy with the Cards avatar and superbowl trophy who preaches Cards Cards Cards isn't a homer.

Like I said, I've proven my knowledge, whether you are anyone else cares is irrelevant. I'm laying the points with Pittsburgh this week and pounding the ML.

And for the record - that bet you posted still won't cash and I actually bet on the Cards in the first playoff game and leaned towards the points against Carolina. I've also bet against the Cards on the spread twice this year and bet on them 6 times. I'm not a fan i'm an investor, when I see a mismatch and opportunity to cash in I do it and back it up with sound reasoning. I see one this week and will cash in. The rest of the bandwagon jumpers like yourself can do whatever you like. and if you think the "public' will be on Pittsburgh then you're an idiot.
