Books could have listed the Giants at -4 (-110) and got just as many Giants bets. Noone wants any part of the Steelers on the road, without Palamalu, without their starting RB and backup RB, and going against the defending champs. So why do the books have the line at -3.5 at +money rather than -4 (-110)?

Four reasons.

1) You can get the defending champs at a more enticing line.
2) You can get the defending champs at +money.
3) People will be steered away from betting the Steelers at +3.5 due to the high juice (-125)
4) Squares will buy the Giants down to -3 and lay high juice for it.

Now this doesn't always equate to a Steelers cover, but it sure in hell means the books want you on the Giants.

Adding:

2 additional units to the Steelers +3.5

Final Card

Cowboys +4.5                                8 units
Cowboys ML (+173)                        2 units
Steelers +3.5                                 5 units
Cowboys +11 / Steelers +10            5 units
Cowboys +11 / Panthers +10.5        2 units
