THEY WERE RUNNING BECAUSE BRETT FAVRE JUST THREW AN INTERCEPTION. REMEMBER HE TENDS TO THROW THEM IN BUNCHES..DOH.. U MUST NOT WATCH ALOT OF FOOTBALL THEN. BASICALLY EVERYONE IS TELLING ME THAT A 1 -6 TEAM DOES NOT DESERVE TO PLAY IN THE NFL BECAUSE THEY SHOULD LOSE TO A 6 - 1 TEAM .. YOU GUYS ARE IDIOTS JUST PLAIN AND SIMPLE.. GO WATCH THE CANADIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE OR ARENA LEAGUE. THE NFL IS NOT FOR YOU GUYS .. WEEK END AND WEEK OUT THEY PLAY THE GAME TO WIN LIKE HERM EDWARDS SAID. AND THERE ARE TWO HALVES TO A GAME.  WHY DONT WE JUST CROWN THE WINNER TO THE FIRST HALF WINNER AND LET THE PLAYERS STAY INSIDE THE LOCKER ROOM..

People who dismiss this amaze me. Even with NHL players caught gambling, NBA ref CAUGHT fixing games, MAC conference football CAUGHT fixing...

The Ref in the NBA that looks to be guilty as hell...in games that it looked like he (alone or as a group) FIXED. The final score was not even close to the line. 3 or 4 point faves won by 20+. If shit is fixed, just know that the hook is not going to cost you. It will be a slaughter. And I would wager more totals are fixed (baseball for sure) than sides.

Guys it is not "fixing" it is point-shaving their is a difference. "Fixing" a game would mean that their is a predetermined result. Shaving keeps it within a certain number.
 
NHL- they were beating on sports not fixing or shaving. They wre running a book not "fixing" games
NBA- the ref was shaving points and not "fixing" the games.
MAC - that situation has not even been finalized yet that he even did anything wrong.
 
I am suprised you guys don't bring up tennis because the Russian guy FIXED his matches. That's a fix to blatently throw matches. Did GB throw the game? Did Clev throw the game? For a entire offense to be in on the scam please. Do refs shave absolutly but an entire team or Hall of Fame QB. Think of what you are sayng.

This is all a result of the human tendency to try and make order out of chaos.
 
Poker players say poker is rigged, sports bettors say sports are rigged, even WWE fans say wrestling is rigged!!
 
The human mind wants to answer things that are random and make sense of them.  If you watch enough football, things like CLE yesterday are going to happen, and you are going to get the 1 outer on the river too.
 
Its not fixed, its normal distribution of probabilities.

These idiots are dumb and think that all games are fixed, or that everyone in a game has to be in one it. It only takes ONE PERSON doing that ONE KEY PLAY/CALL to fix a game. It could be the coach, the QB, whoever, but it only takes one person.
 
Games that are fixed that I can remember
pitts v seattle superbowl
atl vs saints in the new stadium
nyg v nyj yesterday
gb v chicago yesterday
ne v cleveland (clevenland sets up by covering the previous weeks and especially against cincy(fixed also) only to get to this game and lose)
 
also i think its safe to say that SNF and MNF are both fixed meaning the outcome is already determined before the game. it is because everyone bets on these games, they have no choice, they have to win their money back, etc. these are teh high profile games, especially MNF. ever since last year my trend in MNF has worked out, it goes as follows:
 
example dallas v buffalo
take the favorite team: dallas
take the favortie score: over
 
now reverse it
Dallas & under
or
Buffalo & over
 
parlay it and you wil win one
 
same thing with NE and under last week. and tenny v no before that

Another example of dozens in this thread that dont understand distribution of probability.  If you look at an isolated event, you can find it to be "fishy", but put it in the context of its probability and it looks totally normal.  The next 100 times they score 45 in the first half, and the 100 before it, the score more than 3 in the second.

Its called probability.  Shit happens, and your lack of understanding causes you to look for an oversimplified answer like a fix.

oh yea, and that INT farve threw in the 3q yesterday was laughable. whatever the truth is, he looked like he was trying to hit a chicago defensive player. i remember last year: GB vs BUF
gb 1st and goal at the 2: farve , i swear to god, does a fade away pass straight to a buf def player and what do u kno..the game went under. this is the one reason i don't like the man..hes probably in on a lot of the games. hes  a INT machine

If you wanna see a fix game watch basketball...espically college. 5 guys on a team one is exceptionally good....the spread is -27 one guy and keep it under 27.....i do agree with you that some games more so the higher dollar amounts ie bowl games including the super are more opt to be fixed but the exact percentage no one will ever know...mabey 5 mabey 1 just keep gambling and hopeing you are on the right side.

This planet of 6 billion going on 8 billion and you will have the 7 outta 10, the sheep ratio, that are hypnotized by the way of the world, the TV set is their god, and the god almighty NFL.  Don;t try to fck with that combo, god forbid you mess with the sacred NFL.  It is a scam and carefully orchestrated.  This league and pro sports and your TV devil ESPN are far too big to ever take on...but there is NO DOUBT, the NFL games are predetermined and the Actors and Directors (Coaches) and officials are all on the field to follow a script that the league office hands down.  Cmon and look at the big picture narrow minede ones, Billions of dollars, Casinos world-wide, Mob ties, way too much money hangs in the balance on all these outcomes.

ppl deny that sports games are rigged because they think they are scholars while us who do believe in it are degenerate dumbfucks. i honestly believe if games were not rigged, and there were no story lines to keep the fans interested, the sports world would be as dull as a field of grass

NFL goes a long way to protect its integrity, just because you lose a bet doesn't mean it is rigged. THERE IS NO WAY NFL IS RIGGED.

Las Vegas wouldn't be Las Vegas if they didn't have assurance once in awhile that a game wont lose.  I'm pretty sure in meaningless games, early season games, and small college games that they can swing and outcome here and there.  Let's just say that NOTHING is impossible.

Every once in a while...especially football season....one of these threads gets started.
 
What truly baffles me...and I have been around (and gambling) for a very long time...is all of these posters that believe some games are fixed....
 
...YET, the spend hours upon hours on a website that is dedicated to the information exhange in trying to bet a game to win.
 
If these posters believe that these games are rigged, pre-determined, or, even influenced by one person (player, coach, ref) so that the spread is affected....why in g_ds name do they come to this website?....
 
I see this every year/season...and I always say the same thing every year/season. I honestly do not understand why these people come to this website.
 
Jacked up, I always lose, and the others....I would really like to know why you are even here. No bashing, no hating....I am honestly very confused....
