I'm not very big into how bad the economy is there, but I saw a movie (about a decade ago) about this white rapper who lost his job because the steel factory shut down. This was caused by the Chinese producing more steel, cheaper. And from what I hear, things haven't exactly improved in the past 10 years.

So yeah, either Eminem was going overboard with his description of Detroit, Michigan, or things aren't really great over there. Hammer22 is probably the only millionaire in the area.
