Before that... 1997 Bulls -12.5 vs. Heat in Game 1 & Game 5.

With Dubs win tonight now 8-4 ATS, 9-3 O/U in playoffs
and 11-0 ATS in last 11 road games.

Dubs -11 @ Spurs = Biggest home-dog for SA in the last 20 years !!

I've written often about Ventura's CWS lineup last year
when he benched hot hitters who'd good #'s vs. a starter
—> the Sox lost, esp. when they had > 72% of Public bets.

Now we have Jon Jay w/ a 3-game hitting streak & .666 bat-avg
who is one of the best hitters in MLB vs. Cueto = in 38 plate app.'s
.342 avg. 13 hits, 2 BB, and 3 HRs with 7 RBI !!!
He is NOT in the starting lineup !!

Last year Cueto had two outings vs. Cubs in Wrigley Field —
both were Pure Quality Starts;
while Lester had two in Wrigley & one away —
not a one was a Pure Quality start.

Public's pounding the Run Line at 87% to 90% @ the major books,
with 70% to 79% on the ML.

Concl.:
This situation barks loudly for taking Frisco, the huge road-dog
(+150)

The Claw's Kryptonite are the Cards, from the beginning...

Playoff teams that were stunned w/ upset loss as double-digit favs
are 2-4 ATS next game when playing as double-digit favorite again.

And so, tonight, the Cavs could face a challenging Game 4 at home
after giving the Celts some new life and self-belief —
their lethargic 2nd Half performance netted just 42 points,
and can happen again, easily — why not, they're all NBAers.

Only 3 of 10 playoff wins for Cavs have come by more than 13 pts;
they were challenged in sweeping Indy;
only Raps looked sorely overmatched.

Clev was handed 3 times as many free throws as C's in Game 3,
dominated the boards, and yet the Cavs still lost the game SU !!
There's is a lot of room for the Celts to stay w/i in this number
especially if some of those statistics even out to mean-regression.

LBJ will be under the microscope tonight
after his goofy Game 3 showing
but the loss of IT allows Celts' bigger defensive rotation on the floor
- it gave LBJ problems w/ Smart & Crowder predominantly on LBJ
while Bradley's 42 min of floor time is used to defend Kyrie Irving.

The Celts now have some newly found life
while Cavs have to have some doubt ...
Plus,
road teams continue to dominate ATS numbers in this postseason
and yet it's still a highly inflated-number on the dog Celtics tonight.
 

Boston isn’t all that likely to pull off another mammoth S/U upset
— but they don’t even need to be in close range of an upset
in order to have a great chance to cover this bloated number...

Furthermore,
 
IT is now seen to be pretty worthless defensively
and Clev’s reliance on 3-pt shooting benefitted from IT on the court,
leading to the amazing shooting #'s for the Cavs in the first 2 games.


The oddsmakers have been burned by the favorites so far in the Conference Finals ==> they made sure they will ward off a lot of serious action w/ an outrageous price of -16 (and higher) for Game 4
just like they have done in Game 3.

Road teams dominated ATS in Playoffs so far
=> this line is 6 pts higher than an early November game in Clev,
& also, an over 12-pt. adjustment from Game 1 in Boston
only a few days ago.


Boston was down 0-2 vs. Chicago,
then struggled in the Wiz series for stretches,
but this isn’t a group ready to hang up sneakers to go Cancun fishin'
 
At this inflated number,
a mere marginally competitive game leads to an underdog cover
and only 3 of 10 playoff wins for the Cavs
have come by more than this point spread.

While Cavs/Warriors for the 3rd straight Finals looks inevitable,
Clev's unlikely to outshoot C's by 19% for a 3rd time again this series
and more time for bigger guards Marcus Smart & soon Terry Rozier won’t be the worst adjustment for Stevens to have to make...

their skills will prove too much in the vital Center slot for the Sens.

the Cup Champ series optics, despite them
playing with their Pekker Weeney
— and even before his immediate surgery sidelined Johansen,
the NHL's front office was praying for the Pens to return for the
Cup repeat...

If the Sens win it'll add to the Cavs, Cubs, Clemson trend-buckers
because their coach Guy,
twin towers of #71 & #87,
Johansen recent surgery,
and the NHLeague itself,
THEY ARE ALL AGAINST THE SENATORS WINNING GAME 7 !!!!!!!

having had over double the  SOG &
Sens were 0 for 29 PP goals! 0-29 !!
and only ended that dud of a draught
b/c Hainsey got a bum call (due to a
Ref being in the way, and then a high-
sticking penalty meant a 5-on-3 chance
and Ryan capitalized.

This is even more reasons why the Pens
will get every call going their way Game 7.
