Yes.  That's what I've been doing for over ten years now.  I have no other job.  Don't make the mistake of concluding that no one can do it just because you're having trouble.

You're wrong again.  All the inside info in the world won't help them if they don't understand basic psychology and they don't understand how to bet.

I was doing well in November and December but as soon as the calendar flipped to 2010, I turned into a bumbling, missed opportunity machine.  It's strange, but the last two weeks have been better (even though I continue to do a horrible job of picking and choosing those second half unders, which continue to be gold).

I have, and I did it without personally knowing a single athlete, coach, or referee.  It can be done.

It's not easy to quit gambling especially when you are doing it for awhile. Easier said than done.

Just wait until the NBA playoffs.  Players will be more motivated to play in the playoffs and as a result, you will get more favorable and predictable results.

Also, there is money to be made in MLB if you cap the games accordingly.  Also, baseball has less than any other sports, so if you do your homework, you should be rewarded.

Good luck with your future plans.

You don't do well on this because, imo, you make poor decisions. I don't see the bets you make until you start five or threads complaining about them mid-game and a lot of them just seem to be on sides or more often totals that have no real angle to them (again, imo). that's a recipie for DISASTER in the NBA.

I've just about done my head in over the last three seasons testing various angles and everything under the sun and now I have a couple of methods that are profitable and I know will be profitable long term because of the premise they're based on.

To cut a long story short, you gotta have a game plan with the NBA and stick to it. As soon as you stray from the path in this league it will knock you into tomorrow so fast. Nobody can ever be totally immune from odd "moosing" in this league but you can certainly reduce the frequency of that sort of thing by having a plan.

Aussie,  I don't know you man but for real wish you nothing but the best... I feel for your situation, although I have no idea what it would actually feel like.  You got the right attitude, you need to get away imho, there is no way that betting is going to help you it's only going to make you think that you can get back what you lost.

To be successful in gambling you have to have the proper head, just like in life if we become too consumed in any one thing it begins to run our lives.  Gambling doesn't start out that way for most, but it can get to that point-- any time that you're betting more than 3.5% of your bankroll emotion is directly tied in with what you're doing.  As humans like a poster said earlier we have emotions that aren't going to go away.  The biggest of all of those is GREED, so that is where discipline comes into play--  There are people that can make it in this, but those that try to chase & get it all back have no chance.  If you hit it big, you're back to chasing mode until you get back to where you were--  it robs life when you constantly have to have your bankroll going up daily.  There are going to be swings there are going to be peaks and valleys--  You gotta be in it for the long-term.

First mistake bettors make is betting more than you can afford to lose.  Second mistake is not betting within the betting limits.  Third is upping the bet when you're hot & then you're completely screwed cuz you go cold and then you have no base unit--  I'm not directing this to you, but to everyone who gambles, because i see it in here all the time...  People going big, people throwin' their lives on a play that is a lock or a sure thing.  It's sickening and that's where gambling gets a bad rep.

Look at a guy like Investments,  the dude grinds away every single day..  Never bets over his head & his result--  he is up close to 400 units (not the unit system that everyone else is playing either)  Just straight grinding, 1-2% of your bankroll day in and day out--

OK so what i just said is for everyone in here, something that even myself can learn to do a better job of...  I'm not perfect, not claiming that I am, but i hate seeing people miss out on life, because of getting utterly and completely consumed of their lives because of gambling--  the worst part about it too is those who are consumed to an unhealthy ammount that can't enjoy anything else are losing a lot of money in this.

Now back to you Aussie-- Sorry for the long note, just wanted to encourage you-  there are ways to get back from this and get back on your feet.  You sound real down & it sucks you had to learn such a hard lesson these last couple weeks, but the positive side of everything is that you're getting your life back-- Get away from this man, you have shown in the past 10 years that you can't look at this from an investment point of view and that you need to step away.  I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but the fact of losing 20k every year for 10 years has to be an awakening & it's really time to man up and walk away..  Everything in you is gonna want to go back & step back into this, but for real fight like hell to walk away & i believe you're on the right track--  Let me know if ya need anything man & I wish you the best.

I know it's hard to believe it now, when you're in one of the most down times in your life-- It's gonna get better & the only way better for you is to get away & get your life back.  Talk to ya soon Aussie, & I'm sorry you had to learn the hard way--  Face this sh** head on, you got it man.
