I mostly stick to football where I have the most confidence in my ability to pick a winner ats.

NBA, I look into everyday and really try to pick my spots during the regular season. Depending on my mood I might bet 4 games a night, which doesn't always end up pretty or I might not lay money for 2/3 weeks. I also try to capitalize on the in-game o/u. If you have a book that offers live betting, everyonce in awhile they will really mess-up on the adjustment and that is usually when you can capitalize.

In the playoffs your best bet is to throw all capping out and play the story lines.

In game betting is something that definitely takes some time to master and get experienced in.  One you start to understand betting the sport and situationals more, you will find that in game betting is can be exploited to steadily build your bankroll.

Bet 1st half overs, bet second half unders and u cant go wrong.....

Based on trends, results and lines, u can make the folliwing assumption......

"Generally, NBA players shoot better in the 1st half of games than second half of games".

I thought i would never say that, but there is empirical evidence behind it.......

I couldn't agree more about nropp11.........great source of info.  Although he's been on a "cold streak" lately, he ALWAYS gets it going again.  IE: last night he did really well.  GL to all!

I couldn't agree more about nropp11.........great source of info.  Although he's been on a "cold streak" lately, he ALWAYS gets it going again.  IE: last night he did really well.  GL to all!

In theory, that sounds like terrible advice.  Most lines already account for this in most situations.  This is mostly due to the 4th quarter phenomenon, which today was a sad day with Jerry Sloan leaving the Jazz.  No coach or team has been more impactful in 4th quarters as Sloan was under the Jazz.

making money in any sport can be done and has been done for decades !

The wiseguys and sharps are business people they look at every wager as investent  with a 100%  ROI

most here  are just having fun betting with monopoly money posts

$20,000  lock of year  $100,000 lock of year  etc...

IF you treat sports wagering as a business and really sty focused every day  YOU will win large every season !

IF you keep doing as you been doing YOUR going to get the same results  you get every year  !

I'm no veteran at this betting but i have help from my 4 friends and just 3 years  into this betting seriously with $100  - $500  wagers instead of the mini wagers $25 - $50

Wow the refs can really piss me off too but I don't hold that kind of animosity towards them.  They are humans capable of human errors.  Just know which ones are more error prone.

Violet Palmer is the worst in the entire league.  I stay away from all her games from now on.

Actually, I was wondering how can someone cap the games on their own?

I 100% agree man. You don't hear too many people talking about in-game betting on here. In-game betting is my bread and butter when it comes to making money with sports. It can really take this to the next level when one learns to utilize it right. I view my full game bets as just a base-ground bet to build upon.

How often do you use it? I have always had respect for you as a capper here on covers. I have been starting a little group of people that discuss in-game lines while the game is on. You should stop by on Sunday, it would be awesome to hear you input.

To be honest, that's why I love this site so much. When people use covers right and help each other, it can really benefit everyone. That's also why I get so upset with bashing... this should just be all about sharing opinion and helping each other.

Take care man and GL with the last few games.

Nobody really does it on their own.  The more sources and information you know the better.  Normally it takes a few years to really accumulate enough info and the growing pains and lessons learned in gambling (money management in particular) on the NBA to become effective.

However what you don't want to do is solely follow others - because you learn NOTHING if you win or lose.

Betting in the NBA starts to become much easier after you learn from your mistakes in each game from an non-biased perspective.

Honestly, it's sometimes hard to watch the games I bet on live because of stress and emotion - it is this emotion that often clouds the gamblers mind to make bad decisions.  If you can't think, then don't play.  The best plays will just pop out at you and you won't have to go looking for them.  In my experience the harder I look into a play, the more likely I am to lose.  First initial gut instincts are typically the best, at least for me.

And capping basketball is really a year-round thing - not just from October to June.  You have to stay in the loop and catch up on news and rumors pretty much on a daily basis.

     Diadactic Diatribe.......

It's a wonder why books are in the BIZ. Socratically and Ironically speaking IF YOU NEED TO KNOW.

Yes, the media is often touting the losing team. Mike Ditka had a sick run a few years back in the NFL on MNF though. Tread lightly here.

When a person asks questions, pretending not to understand, to lure the interlocutor into a logical trap.

Money Mgmt for sure. Increased wagering about a 50th of the time. In-game wagering after an understanding of your said team and other variances, yes.  Fade 2/3 of your friends, yes also! Especially if they aren't on covers and talk a lot of sheeeet.

DISCLAIMER: EVEN IF YOUR FRIENDS ARE ON COVERS, THERE STILL IS A LOT OF SHEEET.

2ND DISCLAIMER: BLINDLY FADING THE PUBLIC MAY BECOME ADDICTIVE.

Monday and Tuesday NBA Streaking Underdogs vs. juiced favorites off a BigGame Wknd Jan - March.

I look fwd to the refs next season, empirically speaking. How can you not with the LIFESTYLE they live!

Regardless, know your sheeeet! Know your matchups in basketball, physically, psychologically, and sociologically. Scheduling is very important and this isn't Kansas every night sweetheart

Don't bet a lot if you don't know what a Prolate Spheroid is.

Stay away from teasers and large parlay cards. If you do happen to hit one we won't believe you. 2 teamers, stick with it. Risky Favorite ML parlays can make you money, but it's money you better have to be able to play and lose.

Large movement one way on the total, continuing thru gametime. Fade. I've seen it more than not.

Don't pay $99 for 30 days worth of picks and expect to retire at the first of the month.

Those are my principles, if you don't like them, I have others!

I have a formula that I created using: HomeAway ,Season, and Last 5/10 Records and Margins that gave me solid predictions for many games since late March in the season. I use that combined with any media news, injury reports, and playoff situations that may arise. I rocked a 4 game parlay due to it which paid out $550+ for a $15 dollar bet.

I'm up consistently 300%-400% on my bankroll starting with a $400 deposit in February.
