Consider this if you think the league put Cavs in the finals.

Cavs opponents in the playoffs shot horrendously poor in uncontested shots. That's right, in uncontested shots, meaning wide open.

The ave distance the Cavs defense was from the shooter was 4.25 feet, only 9th best in the playoffs.

That was not the league putting the Cavs through, it was horredous shooting by the Cavs opponents.

Atlanta shot something like 27% on uncontested shots. That has nothing to do with the refs or league helping the Cavs.

dude,you just SUPPORTED the guys argument in his mind cos they were obviously "ordered" to miss all those easy,open shots..no other reason 4 them to miss,rite??

I've watched the Nets and Knicks my entire life. Their success in the East means little to nothing when they face the West in a potential final. The Nets got absolutely slaughtered by the Lakers and were handled (but fought valiantly) against the Spurs after plowing through the EC during their Finals runs.

Finally Lebron is gong to get smacked up hard (as will JR and his lackey Shumpert) when GS turns it on into full gear. They have Lebron, but there just isn't enough support beyond that to win in 7 games going away.

GS will win...nuff said.

I've got Cavs winning as the last play in a few of my parlays too and I'm not liking how the public is pounding them. The Dubs have zero Finals experience while the Cavs have LeBron. From a purely basketball point of view, the Cavs should have a great chance to win the championship. But from the betting point of view (depending whether or not you feel results are fixed or influenced by the betting public), I would be surprised to see the Dubs lose just because so much money is coming in on the LeBrons.....

You've got the group that got LeBron at 30:1 at the beginning of the season and then now you can get them at 2:1, which everyone and their mama is throwing their house on. So yea, I'm a little worried.....

And what is the combined finals experience of the rest of the group? Kyrie, Thompson, JR, Iman, Mozgov. Zero.

And you think Lebron balances out that experience, as though that 'finals familiarity' is somehow magically transferred to the psyche of the other Cavs?

Sorry. Doesn't work that way and I sure as hell wouldn't put my money on such a thing. Whole different story when it's Lebron, Wade Allen and Bosh (after year 1).

mmm,i see your point plainly..kidd was my absolute favourite player of all time so i know well the heartbreak and inevitability of those nets losses.....but remember there is one huge difference/disparity between those western representatives and these warriors and that is pedigree,PROVEN pedigree.duncan and co. and kobe and shaq were dominant post season monsters that were also playing under great coaches and didnt lack composure or heart and hardly ever shied away from the moment...this golden state group...well,i dunno.id like to think they are cut from similar cloth but time will tell...we know that corny old championship saying in sports come about for a reason,"ya most often have to lose one first to learn how to win one".

Cant believe this thread's still goin. Obviously if you don't hedge you're an idiot. And this guy obviously is another one of those people who root for 29 teams throughout an NBA season, whichever one happens to be playing Lebron. I got Cavs in 6 but no result in this series would surprise me.

He's been backpedaling like an All-Pro cornerback for a month now. As much as I can't stand Lebron and don't want to see him win, it would be so worth it to see how he tries to explain what happened.

99 knicks and 07 cavs did NOT have this version of lebron...clearly he now has the ability to elevate the play of others and lead strongly and inspire....and the eye test alone tells you that boobie gibson,larry hughes,drew gooden,ilgauskas etc.. are NOT better than this current group and certainly dont have the nerve and resilience/guts displayed by them thus far.

if anything can be concluded from tonite it is that this will NOT be a sweep or 4-1 obliteration........but we'll see,things can change in a heartbeat or one single game

wat im saying is sumtimes you can throw stats in the trash can cos teams and individual players can change their identity and find a spirit and cohesion and inspiration to turn them into a whole different animal than wat you expect just looking at the face of it.....happens all the time in sports.

believe me,no-ones more surprised at just how effective,efficient and functional a bunch of marginal players like smith,shumpert,mosgov,thompson have been...but i've seen it so i have to accept it and re-evaluate...warriors still the better team but lebrons guys mite just give them all they can handle.

Melos, you don't throw a +10.1 pt differential in the trash. It is one of the highest in history and ALL teams with that differential have won the championship as I noted (except for one that was beaten by a team with an even bigger pt differential). On top of that, this Warrior team is outstanding in far too many ways in comparison to any team in the East that it doesn't even warrant a conversation

All in all, a close game that went to OT and the Cavs need game 2. That's about what everyone thought (that they must take one of two in GS).

One down...

Three games to go...

Until the shredder starts gettin' revved up....BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

(that is unless you have a spare $6,000 around to hedge your bet which, oh I don't know 99% of bettors here do not have)
