I’ve got some analysis on the game, but I’ve also been informed that Milwaukee in the first five is basically a 90% proposition, so who am I to argue with science

I figured fuck it… if they’re up after five, they ought to be able to separate the rest of the way too.

I’m doing Bloody Marys for the game today, and for the hot sauce in the Bloody Marys I used Marie Sharp’s Beware Comatose Heat Level. I love spicy, and I’m telling you right now, that shit gives it an unbelievable kick. Amazing hot sauce.

I really like the F5 matchup

Rocker’s overall 4.41 ERA is almost exactly backed up by his 4.59 xERA and .329 xwOBA, so there is no hidden Statcast profile telling us he has secretly been much better than his results. His real weapon is the slider. He throws it 38.2% of the time and it has held hitters to a .198 average, .340 SLG and .251 wOBA with a 41.2% whiff rate. That pitch is legitimate. 

The problem for Rocker is everything surrounding the slider

His sinker is 30% of his arsenal, and hitters have a .309 average, .461 SLG and .406 wOBA against it. It generates only a 9.1% whiff rate and gets hit hard 44.2% of the time. His cutter is even uglier  .327 AVG, .564 SLG, .414 wOBA and .434 xwOBA. So roughly 44% of everything Rocker throws is sinker/cutter, and those are precisely the two pitches opponents have done the most damage against

Old Dusty is back out there after getting drilled in the shoulder on the first pitch last time out .  Let's see how long he goes today
