Miami Marlins -1.5 +150
Alcantara had one rough outting, but everything else has been pretty good. He's walking a lot of guys which is concerning, but at home this year, he's sporting a 1.23 ERA in nearly 30 IP. Bassitt, while I think he's no good, he's put together a handful of decent starts, and the Os are 4-1 in his last 5 starts. But their bullpen is a mess right now, as we saw yesterday, and their offense isn't getting anything done whatsoever. Marlins pen has been sneaky good as of late too.
Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 +158
This is an incredible number, given that Vlad isn't in the line up for the Jays, and how dominant the Rays pitching has been over the last two weeks. Gausman has been fine, not great, but not bad by any means. But his offense isn't going to be able to get him the run support necessary. The Jays have a bottom third pen, and I know that we should be able to count on TB getting 5-6 runs.
Rangers/Yankees Under 9 -118
There have been a lot of repeat match ups in the first month of the year already. deGrom just saw the Yanks on 4/28, and he dominated 6 innings. Rodriguez threw for the Yanks the next night, and had some control issues, but navigated it well, and left his team with a chance to win. I don't know where the Texas offense comes from. They have struggled mightily so far this year, and have a bottom 5 offense. Rodriguez doesn't have to be great, just dont be terrible. We know what we are getting from deGrom. And statistically speaking, the Rangers have the best bullpen in baseball right now.
Dodgers/Astros Over 8.5 -108
Dodgers offense finally woke up last night, and I should have known all it was gonna take was the Houston staff for that to happen. Not missing it tonight. Sure, Ohtani is pitching, but I'm not really counting on a whole lot of help from the Astros in this one. If they can squeak out 2 or 3, that should be plenty. Both teams have beat up bullpens too, so once the starters are out, it could be bombs away.
Chicago White Sox -104
The Angles are the worst team in baseball, and the line-makers haven't seemed to have caught on yet. I dislike Erik Fedde quite a bit, but he's proven me wrong twice this year, and pitched rather well. I'll eat my crow, and back him tonight, vs the Angels call up Sam Aldegheri. Sox are a top 10 offense vs LHP, and aside from Trout, the Angels have no offense to speak of. The Halos have won just 6 of 16 games at home this year, while the Sox have won half their road games going 10-10.
Atlanta Braves +110
Well, Baldwin/Albies/Riley/Olsen all hit HRs yesterday, but three of them were back to back to back, and the other was a solo as well. And 4 runs wasn't enough. But I'll back this offense every night. Way too much firepower to ever be a dog. Elder has been just fine, and should keep his team in the game, while the offense tries to navigate Kirby. Likely a low scoring game, and that always favors the dog.
