Went to Branson to play golf for a couple days. If you live in the Midwest and have never been to Big Cedar Lodge, put it on the list. If you watched the Barstool Internet Invitational, this is where that was. Tigers course, Paynes Valley, is the most noted one there, but Buffalo Ridge is the best for my money, and Ozark National is a close second. Anyway, back to baseball.
Tampa Bay Rays +100
Roupp has been really good, but their offense still stinks. The three bats they were supposed to rely on the most are batting .200, .210, and .262. You just aren't going to win many games when that's the middle of your order. Tampa is doing the bullpen start thing again, which I'm starting to come around on. Their offense is very capable, and when you need to score on a good pitcher, doing the little things like going first to third on a hit, or moving the runner to third with less than two outs, etc get you wins, and the Rays are the best at it.
St. Louis Cardinals +116
Dodgers have now lost 3 in a row, and the Red Birds have won 5 straight. The Cards are getting super lucky with the timing of this series. They miss Ohtani, Yamamoto, and Glasnow. Sasaki goes tonight, and he hasn't been very good, but McGreevy for the Cardinals has been excellent. He's only walked 3 hitters in his last 27.1 IP. The Cards bats are hot, and I'll ride them while they are on this wave. It's a perfect evening for baseball in St. Louis.
Braves/Rockies Over 9.5 -104
Always scary to take an over in a game that Chris Sale is pitching in, but @ Coors, no one is safe. The Rockies offense should be able to contribute, especially once Sale is out of the game. The Braves pen is a little banged up at the moment, and the Rockies have some very capable bats. But the big reason I'm on this is cause of the Braves offense. Getting the Coors advantage, these guys are looking to pad some numbers this weekend.
Royals/Mariners Under 8 -112
Two great starters in Lugo and Hancock, and two offenses that go into offensive droughts. Both seem to be starting to find their stride, but with these two on the hill, it will be tough sledding. Mariners bullpen has been excellent too.
