A textbook example of why so many systems and people can not possibly make money at at odds wagering on baseball. Even 52.9% is incorrect in 11/10 foots and buckets, it is 53.28%. But, that is not the problem because baseball wagering on odds is more akin to odds games. Roulettte, craps, even horse racing are better examples than foots and buckets. At 261-164, as you quote, -157 would be the break even point. High odds favorites with a return on risk of 63.69% have a very hard time keeping up with high juice losers.

To quote an ancient source, "Bad wagering and bad money management have killed more gamblers than bad picks ever did."

What is the purpose of tracking a model/system without understanding the profitability? 

Smack stated earlier in the thread that the average line for the PODS was -175. Playing everything straight up doesn't look like a winning proposition. I'll play -1 or -1.5 at times but really haven't calculated how that has. affected my return

ibacku-you are totally confusing me. First off-I think we should all try to help each other make money. Key is a numbers guy and agreed with you that you would be in the RED if you bet these picks straight up.I'm guessing that you don't realize that being in the BLACK is positive and being in the RED is negative. Otherwise it makes no sense with the attitude you have.I appreciate everthing smack has done and have followed along.I am always looking to refine my betting methods.

Key has probably been gambling for longer than most of you have been alive (except me ).I don't think he's being negative-just realistic.As I said before the purpose of any forum should be to help people make some money
