Rough night for many as Day 42 is completed......

The main system went 6-9...Overall now 261-164...

The PODs went 3-5 and now are at 114-68 over the last 26 days...

    Borderlines went 3-4...

    (-180)s went 1-2...

Can't get any worse tomorrow...can it?....

Clearly I am aware of that...this system that I record is an exercise to find out if it is possible to build something that works with minimal handicapping...I'm not doing it to build a reputation...or prop myself up as a great handicapper...

If I wanted personal props...I wouldn't tell everyone here on Covers that it is a system...I would put it out as my personal handicapping plays...

So take/leave it as you wish...the games will be counted in the record so as to make sure it represents the system correctly.

Yes he is funny, and he is the man.  Take that record and "Smack" it up (pun intended), don't flip it, but keep putting it down.

Keep it going buddy and whenever youre ready.... (I predict that you are going to be upset that you didnt get to it sooner, you know what Im talking about)

Therein lies the problem, without an accounting by either units or return on risk (preferable) noone has any idea if the system makes money or is just an exercise in picking winners and rolling over money. A W/L record in MLB tells the world nothing.

IF you are 114-68 over last 26 days(pod) I believe your in the RED making money!!! and 261-164 overall that's 61%..... break even 52.9%

A textbook example of why so many systems and people can not possibly make money at at odds wagering on baseball. Even 52.9% is incorrect in 11/10 foots and buckets, it is 53.28%. But, that is not the problem because baseball wagering on odds is more akin to odds games. Roulettte, craps, even horse racing are better examples than foots and buckets. At 261-164, as you quote, -157 would be the break even point. High odds favorites with a return on risk of 63.69% have a very hard time keeping up with high juice losers.

To quote an ancient source, "Bad wagering and bad money management have killed more gamblers than bad picks ever did."

Sorry to burst your bubble, but supposedly the idea here is to help one another win, not lead lambs to the slaughter.

What is the purpose of tracking a model/system without understanding the profitability?

Smack stated earlier in the thread that the average line for the PODS was -175. Playing everything straight up doesn't look like a winning proposition. I'll play -1 or -1.5 at times but really haven't calculated how that has. affected my return

ibacku-you are totally confusing me. First off-I think we should all try to help each other make money. Key is a numbers guy and agreed with you that you would be in the RED if you bet these picks straight up.I'm guessing that you don't realize that being in the BLACK is positive and being in the RED is negative. Otherwise it makes no sense with the attitude you have.I appreciate everthing smack has done and have followed along.I am always looking to refine my betting methods.

ibacku-look at the hard numbers. Smack stated that the average line for PODS was -175. At the percentage that he's hitting Key stated that -157 is the break even point. What don't you understand ? Key has probably been gambling for longer than most of you have been alive (except me ).I don't think he's being negative-just realistic. As I said before the purpose of any forum should be to help people make some money
