Honestly, it was probably the DH position that made the angels more attractive destination than cards or marlins. I think he knows that having to play all 10 years on the field would have diminished his career. I think he'll be a full-time DH in 5 years or less.

I dont get a guy winning 2 world series with a team including the last one and leaving that team , especially when he is f'n worshipped by the fans of that city

It's all about greed , players now dont care where they play , just want the money , then you read about them years later screwing up . example manny rameriz, barry bonds, jose canseco, list goes on and on ....

you cant blame the guy for wanting to get paid. i mean 11 years and playing REALLY good baseball. If the cardinals resign him, they would be set for the future for selling tickets. he draws alot of people.

After Tony retired, I thought he might sign elsewhere...

It's too bad he didn't sign though with the Cards because they would've had an excellent shot at multiple championships going forward.

Last year was a great story and a nice way for Albert to end his career there--and I sure wished I had seen Idothis's 4000:1 long shot thread SOONER rather than later; and had put something on it as well. Even $5 friggin dollars paid 2 grand!
