Phillies vs Dodgers in NLCS who ya got?

OK...you got me. However...isn't Howard really the centerpiece of your team? I mean...if it wasn't for him...you'd be in Game 5 on Wednesday. The Phillies, as a team, hit .247 v lefties. They hit .264 v righties. The Dodgers hit .270 v both. But I won't get too far into this. I'll let Torre do the talking.

Solid to me would be 4 ERA over the year and both billingsley and Garland are right there 4.01 and 4.03. They can give 2 runs over 6 and let the bullpen shut you down! Padilla 3.20 over last 7 games looked great against the cardinals......If you want to compare the two teams from last year lets:

Ethier and kemp both leaped into role players and loney held his own. Furcal is finally healthy and defense is solid. Pitching is much better than last year and bullpen shines with sherril and broxton.

Rollins took a step back - utley, victorino and howard excellent players but not better than last year - werth - stud (former dodger) Feliz is weak and ibanez blew his cannon already earlier in year. Hamels no where as dominant and blanton and happ are good but not shutdown pitchers - Lidge ( do I need to say anything) Just ask the cardinals....

Well...those "rejects" Wolf and Padilla has a better ERAs than Hamels, Pedro and Blanton.

Wolf has found himself in Los Angeles and so has Padilla. Padilla hated Texas. The Rangers hated him. He's said he loves playing in LA. He loves the clubhouse, unlike Texas, and just feels at home. So before you rag on these "rejects", remember...they've pitched better with their current team than the 3 of the Phillies' pitchers.

• Staff ERA: 3.14
• Outscored Phillies, 26-25

Seems pretty close and kuroda may pitch... Should be great series. Cliff lee game 3 and may only get to pitch once is not a great scenerio for phillies.

You really should respect them and mean it. If you don't, then once you lose, you'll have lost to a pretty much garbage team.

See...you should do what I do. I give the Angels all the credit in the world. If they beat the Yanks, nobody can quote me as saying that I thought the Yankees were the much better team.

Clayton Kershaw ERA 2.79  WHIP 1.23 SO 185
Cliff Lee              ERA 3.22  WHIP 1.24 SO 181

Oh and Kershaw ranks 5th in NL ERA/3rd in NL BB/11th in NL Strikeout.

So YES Kershaw can hang with Lee!  And Sparky for the love of STUCK-ey's few remaining brain cells PLEASE don't pass him the Blunt.

If you haven't noticed...I'm cheering for the Dodgers. Yankees v Dodgers has been my dream matchup since Torre went to LA. They'll meet next season in LA, but I want to see Torre back in the Bronx. I had the Cardinals in Game 1 and 2 in about every contest possible but cheered for the Dodgers every time as well. After that impressive sweep...I'm sold.
