As a fan of the A's and a guy who has some good money on them I have a right to my opinions etc. LETS GO OAKLAND!!!

Hey DHop,
Good to hear from you!!! As an A's fan I realize this is a better start then usual but feel we have the nucleus of a team that may potentially get stronger! (Dush is coming back later this week and Harden "Mr Dl" will give it one more go too in the next few weeks! Also Chavez will be back too by Mid May or early June. We also will be calling up a young phenom by the name of Gonzalez is ready to tear it up! Considering people like you and others still don't think much of us I'll think we'll be under the radar all year and probably win close to 90 games or more! (Frank Thomas and or Barry Bonds move could occur too..Beane could be on the phone right now)

The A's are now 14-9 and tied with the Angels in 1st place in the AL West. Well it looks like my crazy prediction may not may too crazy after all. The team is actually quite deep in pitching and hitting now.(even stealing bases) Props to Beane and company for bringing back the Big Hurt!! I don't see too many posts on A's and not many people grabbling them either. This road trip to Seattle and Anaheim is a good litmus test this early in the season. Even though Seattle has owned us as of late I think their is a good value in every underdog role over the weekend. Especially if you can get a +200 price or more. Also the A's do matchup quite well over the Angels. Since Mike Scioscia took over as their skipper the A's are one of the few teams which has the head to head edge vs his club. Hope to gain more A's fans on this thread as the year progresses. I also welcome the naysayers. I'll be here throughout the year enjoying the green and gold journey!

Chase good to see you chime in..nice avatar...great signing of Allen too to help the rush!!! Billy Beane is probably the best GM in the league and I had a feeling we would surprise this year. Well if we win at least 75 I'll collect..took them at over 73.5 wins!
I agree with you that the Angels deserve to be favored and even Seattle is quite talented but the A's are a hungry young team with a nice mix of veteran leadership! I say worst case scenario they will still be better then .500 and be in the race in September too!

I'm a big Gio Gonzalez fan and I am excited to see what he can do. I love what Swisher has brought to the White Sox, but I'm pissed we had to give up Gio to get him.

I appreciate your responses! AJ your team is raking which doesn't surprise me but will the pitching hold up?(starting primarily) Chase I have V Wells and Eckstein on my fantasy team. Thanks to your management we were lucky to get Big Hurt! I think Jays are quite talented but your manager is sketchy...will he survive or be out soon as the skipper? Tj glad you like this thread which I know many loathe!
Well the A's won again tonight..this time in Seattle where the green and gold struggled last year. 15-9 now and tied with Angels who pay their players...two Dler's vs each other tomorrow..Dush vs Bedard! Gonna to be a good one.

The A's are 16-10 now and are leading the AL West currently. The Angels I realize play tonight in D town! Go Tigers! The green and gold had a great comeback today vs the Mariners and Rodriguez. I had a strong feeling in the offseason that the A's would be good but they are even better then expected! I'm looking forward to the 4 game series in Anaheim vs the Angels. It will be a war!!! Hopefully Gaudin is a dog tomorrow and I'll grab him and collect!

Evening Robbie..the Red Sox are a great team and your fortunate to be a fan of this great franchise! I have Pedroia and Ellsbury in my MLB Fantasy league. I hope we meet up in the ALCS...the A's want to beat the best! You got to beat the man to be the man...A's win...I'll be at the Big A in Anaheim tomorrow to cheer on the green and gold..the magical journey continues!!!!

after the way the sox just played in tampa i'm feeling a bit worried to be honest...its very early in the season but the sox are really hurting in middle releif...okajjima is awesome but they only use him to set up papelbon, which annoys the crap out of me..timlin is old, delcarmen gets roughed up a lot, middle releif is a very underated facit of a teams record IMO...if the bats are not on fire lately we lose, and bats come and go daily as we know.
GL with the A's and i'll keep u in mind at the end of this long season.
