This thread is from last year where they finished 19.5 games out of a playoff spot and 3rd place in their 4 team division.

A's start 0-0-1, should we expect the unexpected from this team?  I don't think so, figure them for third place again, looking way up at Anaheim and Texas.
 
But just in case...A's and Reds in classic Oct. shocker.

  I'm not saying they'll win the World Series this year but it looks like this year they should be greatly improved if nothing else!

I'm back...haven't posted in a long time..looks like I was 4 years early for predicting the A's to win it all..this is definitely the year now!  I did do a future and will win 10 K once they win it all in October or early November...go Green and Gold!

I got them at 100-1 right after the all star break for 20 bucks... the line went all the way down to 18-1 soon after. Do I think they will win... No way! Will I enjoy rooting for them the rest of the way... you bet your ass i  will, what a movie it would make!

I have $200 on A's to win the AL pennant at 80 to 1 and $100 on them to win the world series at 200 to 1

How about my A's everyone?!!!!  The Green and Gold is in the pennant race and have the arms, defense and power to beat the best the AL has to offer!  Stay tuned....

Just think everybody in the American West will get to play the Astros 12 times next year as the Stros move into that division.

they aren't a bad team because they are beating the bad teams right now but wait untill they play the good teams: from the 18th to 27th they have a road trip where they visit Detroit, New York, and Texas.... if they can finish that trip with a winning record then as much as I hate to say it they have a chance to win it all, however if they get dumped on in that road trip which I think will probably happen then it clearly shows they have no business in the world series

The end of moneyball was a hint...Billy Beane is still trying to play the last game of the season. The A's is the model franchise right now, even the red Sox unloading those players was a nod to the Oakland franchise model.

We're still alive everyone even though we got punked in our own crib vs the Halos.  The Green and Gold finish the season with 17 of their next 20 on the road before finishing up at home with 6.  A fantastic finish surely would be improbable but possible..stay tuned!

love the A's myself gusto and had them making the playoffs but they are losing starting pitching every day it seems.. may hurt them the last 2 weeks.  I'm rooting for another bay bridge world series though

The A's are back on track now after sweeping the Mariners ad beating the Angels tonight!  They either split or win 3 of in this series and either sweep or at least take 2 vs the O's at home.  Then it's off to the 10 game road trip which will shock the baseball world!

The A's are still under radar and still have a chance to win the division!  It sure looks like a team of destiny kind of season to me..stay tuned...

Well the A's have just won 3 straight on the road vs the high priced Angels and have won 12 straight road tilts!  They are playing with house money now and have a chance for the 4 game sweep when Anderson faces Weaver!  So whose with me on this Green and Gold train?  Choo...choo.....all aboard!!!!!

texas is the team to beat this year; no matter what anyone says.
