They are likely going to finish 4th in the division after Boston, Tampa Bay and Toronto. They have no pitching at all, and their lineup isn't as good as it was predicted to be either. Old, washed up hitters + terrible pitching = disappointing season.

The next couple of games will really show what they are made of. Darrell Rasner seems to be this year's Aaron Small. Ian Kennedy was beyond impressive yesterday, minus his 4 walks. That was the Kennedy that they didn't want to give up for Santana. A-Rod is back with a bang, and everyone can see that already. Cano has been on a tear hitting very well over his last 12 games with 8 RBIs including the game winning hit last night hitting it to the opposite field which he said afterward that he was aiming that way. Anybody remember the fiasco with Sweet Lou last season. After that tyraid, the team turned their season around. Girardi may have had the same effect on the team last night. Showing them that he will fight for his team, and as soon as he threw down his hat and kicked it, the fans went nuts. Now sure they only got 1 run against a pitcher like Burress who they really should be able crush, but they did crush the lefty the day before. We'll see how the series turns out against the Mariners who they have swept earlier in the season at the Stadium. The only concern that I have right now is Wang's health as he slightly hurt his quad I believe it was when covering 1st base in his last start against the Mets. He is expected to throw in the bullpen and if everything looks fine, he'll be making his start on Saturday. All I'm saying is that if the Yanks start to tear it up in their next 3 games, they will be a force to be reckin with. Remember last season, they were put down after the first 2 months. Come on now, its a 6 month sport with pleanty of division games. Damon is coming around now, and pending on how the Joba switch turns out, I'm ready to come back and laugh at everyone who put them down AGAIN come October.

chase, of all the people on here, you make some of the most ridiculous unthought of comments. Like youve never watched sports. So the yankee lineup, which did this same exact thing last year before tearing it up, is worse that that of the jays? Your insane. When its on its still the best lineup in the division easily. I dont care about the sox championship, they are nothing to fear.

NYY will be lucky if they even make the playoffs. This is the year of the Rays baby!!
Rays have solid pitching and bullpen relief I'll give you that, but as the season moves on there are other "factors" that will drive this team into 2nd or 3rd place overall in their division. But BOL.
