Sorry if this is confusing. 

The only plays that will ever be made are when a team is sitting at 3 wins or 3 losses in a row. 

The premise is simply that every team will have a 4 game winning and 4 game losing streak at some point in the season.  We want to make $50 each time that happens and profit $3,000 for the season.

The Braves lost 5 times before they won the 4th game of their streak.  They laid over -200 around the 3rd or 4th time. 

The Jays lost 4 times before they won their 4th game. 


I went through about half the league last year and they all did in fact win a streak of 4 and lost a streak of 4, but it appears you have to chase some serious juice along the way making it tough for a guy without a huge wad for a roll.

brrrlacher, not intending steal your thunder but this is a old time baseball betting theory and it gous on 3 games.

 

If a team win 3 in a row  start playing them until they lose

If ateam lose 3 in a row start pplaying against them.

While 60-57 is quite underwhelming, I will be interested to see how it works when a team has lost a couple of plays in a row and we are risking larger amounts to profit $50.  It could get ugly if a team doesn't reach the W4/L4 plateau a number of times after getting to the W3/L3 position.

And that's exactly what happened (for a few teams) last season..to make the overall numbers ordinary. 
  For example, LAA was 1-5 on the "LOSS STREAK" part of this system, and ATL was 1-5 on the "WIN STREAK" part of this system last season.  I tabulated the numbers from CBS sports line...They have each team's archived game results for at least the 2009 and 2008 seasons.  Haven't looked at 2008 yet, but I'm not "feeling" there is anything of advantage in this system as described....despite the hot start this season (still 49 wins needed). 

Maybe a tweak to this system is more profitable, like STOPPING after the FIRST 3 game streak doesn't work for each team...instead of continuing to "chase" that 4 game streak.

The real premise is that a team will get a four game loss / four game win streak... BEFORE the are STOPPED at a 3 game win streak / 3 game loss streak.  That's really all it is, (as described in the initial post).  First event wins, then it's finished.

Did just that two seasons ago with two friends.  Instead of dropping the team after they achieve their fourth win or fourth loss you continue to play until the streak is broken. If we had played it by ourselves, one person would have made two thousand at All Star break, playing 1 unit ($100) plays.  We split that three ways and no one continued on with the system.  An awful lot of work unless you set up a spread sheet and added each days results to come up with next days plays.  Thought that I might try it again this year but haven't had the time to keep track.  USA Today sports section lists all current streaks and would be a good place to start keeping track.  If a team goes on a double digit win or loss streak, which happens, you can make some serious dough. Seemed that it wasn't that hard to catch teams on 5 and 6 game streaks which were very profitable. Seemed the good thing was that you never chased so many times just took the loss and moved on.  BOL on your dad's system and if you're keeping track just check out how you would do if you continued to play the streak out. This system's been around for years and if you don't chase you really shouldn't get hurt.

Thanks.  But you don't play them after that, like for 5 in a row, right?  You just move on to another team.

That is alot of juice, but if it wins who's complaining, and as you've shown its been working quite well ...

That was a mistake on my part (4/10) which was caught by a poster.  I made the adjustment and the play was supposed to be the Blue Jays (W3).  We have not made a play on the Yanks yet, but it is very reasonable that you thought so.
