Since someone check 2009 earlier and got a 60-57 record there I assumed that system worked that year.
So I took 15 min of my time and checked 2008 and 2007. Both years the system would work because each team was on 4 game W and L streaks those years...
Now I will go more further...

Year of 2006 worked just fine - every team had at least one 4W and one 4L streak...

The 2005 Cardinals DID NOT lose 4 games but they only lost 3 games in a row 3 times. So if you chased it you would lose 3 times. I checked the odds and each time they were favorites going into the game.
Game 1 - 05/08/05 vs SD they were -190
Game 2 - 06/24/05 vs PIT they were -195
Game 3 - 09/25/05 vs MIL they were -110

Basically you will not lose big units on those 3 games chasing their lose.
