Mets/Rockies Under 10.5 +100
Not always wise to bet unders in this ballpark, but I think this is a shade too high. The wind will be blowing in from left all night, and it will be rainy, only supposed to pick up as the evening goes on. Sugano has been excellent for the Rockies, with his only hiccup being to the Dodgers. Mets are going bullpen opener, then Peterson, who has certainly struggled this year, but he's a Denver native, so hoping he's a little extra gassed up for todays start. Rockies bats aren't nearly as effective when seeing LHP either.
Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 +172
I'll continue to back the best team in baseball right now. 16-5 in their last 21. Pitching staff hasn't given up more than 3 runs in their last 10 games. Only 13 total runs in those 10 games. Now, the offense seems to be slowing a bit, but Diaz missed the weekend, but is back in the line up tonight, and that can never hurt. Lauer isn't any good, and even though the Rays splits vs LHP aren't great, the value on the number is too good for me to pass up.
Phillies/Marlins Over 8.5 -115
I mentioned yesterday that I thought the Philly bats were going to start making some noise, and they scored 6 in the first, but only one more the rest of the way. I think Mattingly has the guys respect, and he knows a thing or two about hitting. Too bad for them, Aaron Nola still has a roster spot. He's gotten shelled in his last 4 starts, and his last two have been extra bad. Don't be surprised if he ends up on the IL with some made up injury here shortly.
Orioles/Yankees Over 8.5 -108
All three of the prior games in the series got over this number, and it isn't like there is a crazy weather happening in the Bronx tonight, so I'm not sure why the number is so low. Yes, Schlittler has been outstanding. But Baz hasn't, and they used a lot of arms yesterday, so either they go to the depths of the pen, or throw tired arms again today, cause Baz won't survive 5 IP. He faced this line up twice last year, and twice he got tagged and never made it out of the 4th. Yanks can get this number on their own, but I'll take any help the Os want to throw my way.
St. Louis Cardinals +104
Right now, the Cards line up has to be the better offense. Especially if Turang isn't going to go again tonight. Still waiting on the Crews line up, but Turang was sick yesterday, so even if he does go today, at what level will he be? They will have Vaughn back in the mix somewhere, but probably going to take a few games to get back his timing vs MLB pitching. Leahy hasn't been great, but the Cards bullpen is starting to slowly shape itself. Fernandez, Romero, Graceffo, and O'Brien have all been very good for the most part, and none pitched yesterday.
