@ArtSchlichterJr He actually demanded a trade after 4 years with Pittsburgh, he hit 262 last year with 27 homers. When I grew up those numbers would have him in Double A ball but today he gets to be a primadonna.

After updating myself on the recent posts, I see there is no need for the winter meetings. The owners and gm's can just read this thread and see what they are doing right/wrong or whatever. As I predicted, Judge got his enormous contract and some questionable players are laughing all the way to the bank to make their big deposits.
Two future predictions. 1. The Royals will get their completely unnecessary downtown stadium, and
2. The A's will very shortly be in Las Vegas, downtown doubtful in their case. LV is a suburban town now and infrastructure required for roads and accessibility (downtown) would be a total nightmare.

@KeyElement
It would be fitting if they put the A's on Freemont st in Vegas...
Fans could go play penny slots and $1 minimum blackjack after games

Carlos Correa to the Giants, on a 13-year, $350 million deal.
Ross Stripling to the Giants, on a 2-year, $25 million deal.
We seem to have this trend now, where all these big FA signings these get lengthy contracts, right around 40, because teams probably want to keep the AAV down, so in order to do that they offer more years, but this basically means the last 2-3 years of that contract will be useless, performance wise...

Taijuan Walker to the Phillies, on a 4-year, $72 million deal.

Fremont..only one e
Other than that there is no way I see a downtown park for the A's. The penny slots and $1 blackjack tells you all you need to know about downtown and the creatures it draws. All the money is suburban. Creating freeway accommodations would be near impossible downtown.

@KeyElement
Think you have to have seen downtown Oakland to understand how difficult a freeway entrance would be and the cost, plus it would have to go on the water which would put you in the middle of 2 ghettos. East 14th St. goes from downtown Oakland to the City of Fremont, I know they changed the name but I have been told it is the same. Then the other side is not safe to walk thru and if you find your self there by mistake it would be a problem.
Telegraph Ave. which starts in Berkeley from 60s fame ends at end of downtown Oakland, no freeway exit when I lived there in late 70s, closest one would be East 14 but it is many miles from downtown, other exits are in better areas of city.
Key is right for this one, damn that was hard to write.

The Mets have lost their goddamn minds: The Giants didn't liked the medical of Correa, so his agent worked out a deal with Steven Cohen, and now Carlos Correa and the Mets have a deal. $315M, 12 years.
Adam Ottavino also to the Mets, 2-year, $14.5 contract.
This is mental: The New York Mets current payroll is estimated to be around $384 million. The luxury-tax payments alone will exceed $111 million. Their total payroll projects to be $495 million.

Yes I know,
Key was talking about downtown Oakland and why no stadium would be built there, since I lived there I threw in my comments.

"Key was talking about downtown Oakland"
Um, no, I was referring to downtown Las Vegas, but it is is good to see you anyway
Oakland is dead on the issue. They can't afford a new stadium by today's standards and the A's are as good as gone right now. The last famous thing to come out of Oakland will be Eminem and I am not so sure that is a source of pride either. Big city, no future.
Just want to wish all you sleazy critters
HAPPY NEW YEAR, and may the gambling gods be with you.

I thought you had switched from Vegas to Oakland,
Damn now sac was right instead of you, not sure what is worst.
Did not know Vegas wanted the As but you still can not make a downtown Park work in Oakland,
but I know nothing about Vegas other than losing money there.
Good to see you post again Key, since you never answered my email.

The misinformation in this thread is egregious!
Eminem is from Detroit Michigan, not Oakland. But there is an Oakland County Michigan. Wait maybe he is from Oakland County, how am I supposed to know?
Key is probably much more immersed in the hip hop scene than Jeg.
Anyway, I have strep throat on new years eve. Hot tea with honey and whiskey never hurt nobody

If you want to talk about a major MLB problem is cohen paying so much lux tax that the league is basically forced to let the mets in the playoffs. Not saying they wont win their way in but in 85 days or so do a little research on who paid what to mlb lux and come find me in September.

Future is all laid out this season for Ohtani. Come play for the Yanks with Aj or go to the mets. Its NY or nothing at this point. Why would Ohtani go anywhere else, maybe LAD or maybe the padre can happen. Its down to 4 choices and its a year away. Hes not going to braves or phillies.

Yes sac I am not as Hip Hop as Key,
but unlike Key I understand your drinking problem.
And from the movie Eminem is from 8 mile Road in Detroit, and I believe it is Wayne County,
if wrong someone will tell me. Also 8 mile is the border for Detroit.

The Red Sox have reportedly heard from the Marlins about Triston Casas and Boston can make a trade package to get Pablo Lopez back from Miami.
this would be massive for the chowderheads, solid #2 guy if Chris Sale can show up and not get hurt or not ever ride a bike. He is the true bubble boy cause the man of glass title has already been taken

"Anyway, I have strep throat on new years eve. Hot tea with honey and whiskey never hurt nobody"
What concerns your followers and friends (both of them) is probably the sheer volume of whiskey and the ratio of whiskey to tea and honey. Have you sobered up yet? Make it back to work by the third?
Not claiming to an expert on hip-hop or rap, but isn't Eminem a rapper? Oh well, if Oakland doesn't want to claim him I guess Detroit is the next best place. They haven't had anything to shout about since the "Motown Sound" died and Verlander headed south. Jackson Five and Denny McLain are their legacy.
