headache, i like your reasoning... at first glance i liked the rangers now i lean towwards the twins. is this a go to play if your down a lot this week? i was thinking of the Brewers as my go to play for the day, thinking they wont get swept with theyre ace on the mound today by a bad pirates team. i dont really see pitt scoring many runs... but what do i know, i cant pick a winner these days for shit

You don't care about Justin and your making this pick with "expectations" that these guys will be in the lineup? I hope you didn't lock it in yet and are smart enough to wait for the lineups to come out.
NO EXPECTATIONS...Kubel is in the lineup tonight, just like I said he would, and I expected that Justin would not play, and he is not in the lineup...I am 100% fine with that...it does not effect my decision at all.

No I am not going for an upset in this game...in fact my numbers indicate that the Twins should be favored in this game...about -110 or -112, so I am getting value in this line. With that being said, this is how I pick my MLB plays...and almost all of my plays are on dogs.

its a good question that should be asked, but this is how I get plays that are strong for me...let me explain, hope this helps...
My numbers have the twins being favorites because my numbers indicate that they would win this same exact type of game about 56 times out of 100. With that being said, the linesmakers dont go by that type of information really...the line is set to what the public is going to do with it. Obviously Vegas needs to get money on both sides and Vegas can make you pay -130 to play Texas and people are still going to play them at that price tonight...they can do this now especially too because the Twins are struggling and the Rangers are solid at home and right in the race, and are having their best year. With that being said, I will take the Twins +126 in this game every day of the week...tons and tons of value here

Agree you have to look @ history, but there are always exceptions, look at the complete picture. I also like Baker for Minny, should be a low scoring, tight affair...

I am not concerned about Morneau for a few reasons...they guys has been struggling lately when he was playing...again, I watch the Twins every single night...and I can tell you that his swing was just off again...he was not going the other way with pitches and was trying to do too much...it happens...he was slumping..I have seen it many times in his career and I can identfiy it in his swing...
but still his presence is still important, but you have to consider what has been happening lately with the Twins...Delmon Young is now playing in LF, with Cuddyer moving to 1B...Demond is swinging a huge stick lately and I will ride his hot streak in the lineup...yes, you can argue his numbers are not good, and Morneau's are great, but I am not saying thats not true, I am just saying justin was in a slump and right now the Twins have a really hot bat with Young that has stepped up to replace him with this chance to play more now

But like you said, his presence is still important. We all know David Ortiz sucks this season, but pitchers are still intimidated by him and without Morneau backing up Mauer, it's a bit scary. Kubel is great but he's not Morneau.
