So its ok for hte Yankees to grab every top FA but the Orioles shouldnt tank the season for one of the best prospects, at a key position of need, to get better for hte future.....

The Yankees have league average players that they just replace with AS caliber players. Its a different business model they use and only they can use that business plan.

Phil Hughes has struggled a little his past few outings also.

By all means...tank it. But you said they have enough to compete with what they have in their system now.

And with the way Gardner is playing...they may not even go after Crawford/Werth. Think about it...who do you take out? Swisher is having an exceptional start after his great season last year. You can't move Granderson. And Gardner is one of the hottest OF in baseball to start the season. If he keeps it up...no room for another guy. But...if they lose Pettitte/Vazquez...they have to fill the void and go after Lee. I just hope they let a guy in their minors get a shot at the 5th spot.

No rebuttle there. He's been pathetic. But...he's completely swapped with Javy so it's not a real concern RIGHT NOW. If he's still doing this down the road...then they'll have to start to worry.

And the babying has begun. His Friday start is being skipped. But in his last start...it was only Reyes who hurt him. But he hasn't been bad. Gave up 5 runs 2 games ago but only 6 in his 3 starts leading up to that game. He had a rough patch, got back on track, and then Houston got to him. Then...right back on track. 10-1 with a 3.17 ERA isn't a sign for concern.

5-0 3.91 ERA in his last 5 starts. No concerns here.

But no why listen to professional scouts who saw Jones change his approach and why listen to Jones himself, when he said in an interview he changed his approach and had to get back to the basics.

Now up to .272 with 11 dingers...... On pace for 25 HR

Batting over .360 in the past 2 weeks.

Hey. I'll give him credit now. But I don't care about short term stats. Awsome. He can't hit in the leadoff spot. But lets see what his stats say at the end of the season.

ok....i understand not caring about short term stats, BUT, he has 12 homers on the season so far...still want to say he is one hit wonder or did you just shit the bed on that comment?

Adam Jones has been tearing the cover off the ball lately. A slow start, to be sure, but I, myself, am a fan.

Like I've said...I'll give him his credit now. But also...like you've said...he's doing all that THIS MONTH. If he adds this to the next few months...of course I'd take back what I said. But we shall see. He was solid Pre All-Star break last season and was garbage in the 2nd half. He seems to be more of a streaky player than a solid one.

Jones has been hot lately and will probably be Baltimore's lone representative in this years All Star game.

But i think Markakis deserves it more. His all around game has been better.

But that's just my opinion.
