Why dont you look at his past 3 year average.

He didnt come up till May during his rookies season and the Orioles had no plans on bringing him up that year but he forced there hand.

Also god forbid you even recorgnize he put these numbers up in a lineup of the Orioles with ZERO protection.

Can you even begin to imagine what kind of numbers he would have in the Yankees lineup or Red Sox or someone. Nope you dont know how to look at things in the full picture.

I'm talking about his CAREER OBP. Not this season. Career .311 OBP? That's pathetic.

I already said he had to work walks more. He will always have a pitiful OBP but he will hit for power and play plus defense with compensates and makes up for that weakness.

    Does this unnamed player suck?

    . 275 BA/ .331 OBP/ .804 OPS

    Career .331 OBP

Those are the type of numbers I have consistently said I expected Jones to put up while playing GG defense. I never once said he would hit for high average or get on base at a high rate.

    His 3 past years....

His first full season and 2 subsequent years (past 3 seasons), after his rookies year

    He has averaged

99 runs and 100 RBIs and about a .300 average and 20 HR

    Career .331 OBP

Those are the type of numbers I have consistently said I expected Jones to put up while playing GG defense. I never once said he would hit for high average or get on base at a high rate.

That's average. But...how many homers does this player have? RBIs? Mark Reynolds won't hit for average, but he gets it done in the power department to help his team.

    Based on your remedial reasoning.

Every player should put up stats in line with their Rookie stats.

Their rookies stats are what they should be expected to produce year in and year out. They will not grow, get better, and more acclimated to the league. They will never see a bump in production and will become the player they are after their rookies year.

Its your rookies year and that is the tell all stat for what you are expected to produce.

Putting words in my mouth again to try and validate your point... I will end on this note... Let me know when the Hall Of Fame decides to just not average in a players rookie year to their career stats???  Ohh and P.S.  his rookie year stats might be better than his stats at the end of this year.... Take care you live in a world that only a few others do... A world of excuses and delusion

That unnamed player has average 24 HR and 89 RBI during their years (not counting their first 2 full seasons as they were still growing into the player they became and still are)

Based on your crying and arguing about Markakis that is what you believe.

If it is not you would have not had the hissy fit about averaging his last 3 years and not taking into account his rookie season.

That didnt bode well with you so its either you believe that their rookie year will be their average career line or you dont. YOu cnat have both ways to fit your argument for what you want to argue now.

Even when people provide you with statistical data, you still write a paragraph on the most manipulative shit to try and justify the crap that comes out of your mouth...  I can't believe I waste this much time arguing with a maniac about the ORIOLES... I must be crazy as well...

    Which is it then URISS?

A player will only produce in line wiht his rookie stats or he will not?

If you say he will get better than there is absolutely no reason why taking an average of Markakis' stats over the past 3 years, after his rookie season, would be a problem.

So you either believe rookie stats are a starting point for evaluating and ap layer will progress or you believe rookie stats are what they will produce year in and year out.
