    Zhenli Ye Gon

"Mr. Ye", as he is known on the Las Vegas strip, has reportedly lost $125 million at a number of Vegas casinos over a period of time. Apparently, this wasn’t exactly a problem for Ye, an alleged drug trafficker whose house in Mexico City yielded more than $200 million in cold, hard cash when police conducted a raid.

    Kerry Packer

Once the richest man in Australia, the late Kerry Packer is believed to have lost up to $40 million in 10 months, including almost $28 million during a three-week losing streak at London casinos in 1999.

    Akio Kashiwagi

This Japanese property developer was once described as “the world’s biggest gambler”. He won big, and lost big as well. He owns the dubious distinction of having incurred the biggest loss at a baccarat table in casino history: he lost close to $10 million in six days at the Trump Plaza in 1992. The following year, he lost a lot more than that: he was stabbed to death in his home at the foot of Mount Fuji.

    Fouad al-Zayat

Known as “The Fat Man” in gambling circles, this Syrian-born businessman has lost more than $46 million over 12 years of hard gambling. Recently his assets, which include a Boeing 747 jet and a Rolls-Royce, have been ordered frozen upon the petition of a London casino to which he issued a $4 million check that bounced.

    Frank Sarakakis

It is rumored that this Greek businessman, who owns a car firm in Athens, lost some $16 million playing roulette at a London casino in 1994. Before that, he is said to have lost a similar amount at the Ritz casino in 1988.

I don't know about u Vegas Dennis but I thought this was a GAMBLING website. So providing info about GAMBLERS has 2 be relevant.

    P.S.

VegasDennis, stop following me from thread 2 thread HATING on me & my Vegas status. It's the internet, so calm down. If someone wanted to come on a board & lie then let them lie. BUT, my philosophy is that EVERYTHING I EVER SAY on this BOARD WILL be & HAS PROVEN 2 BE TRUE. So either contribute positively or not at all. Please sir.

    Sincerely,

    Bigkat

Why follow this guy around?  I love reading Vegas stories, reports, updates, reviews, etc. between trips (honestly don't give a shit if there true).  Bigkat is one of the only guys keeping this Las Vegas section alive and for some reason rather than ignoring him/her, you feel the need to berate.  Says alot you.

I hope you two and many others add your own stories and reviews because I like reading them and this place is often empty.

Packer the Australian is a HUGE whale in Vegas and actually won so much one trip at the MGM, he changed the share price on the stock market.  I cannot comment on the others, but Packer is for real ....

The most written about, most admired, and, to some casinos he's crippled, the most feared modern gambler is Australian billionaire, Kerry Packer. When it comes to Packer it's hard to get the facts of his prodigious wins and equally prodigious losses straight. He either won 20 million, 30 million or 40 million dollars over several days at MGM Grand in Las Vegas in 1997 and caused several casino executives to get the axe for reeling in this big whale who sunk their quarterly earnings report

I love Vegas stories, they're great reads between trips.  He adds to the forum, it may not be what you want to hear, but that's what's great about these forums, different shapes and sizes.  I'm sure you could add some great addtions and recommendations to this site, and I wish people would focus on that rather than chase away someone for having a different thought than you.

Take the fixed game thread as an example.  If he tells us he just had a game fixed for 2500 dollars, I'm probably not going to go crazy and lay everything I have on that game, I'll most likely just avoid that thread.  It may be interesting, and I can almost quarantee you'll at least check the score of that game :).

I have to agree about Packer. His an Aussie who sure knew how to gamble. He passed a couple of years ago.

Packer actually owned one of the big tv channels here in Australia. He had a huge bet on cricket, and actually had a broadcast shut down so that the cricket could be streamed live to see his bet in play.

Thats power, and commitment to your bet! Can't blame him, if I had a few million on a cricket match, I'd want to see it played out as well.

    RIP Kerry!

PS - His son, James, is pretty much killing the dynasty Kerry left him. James has no business acumen, and is costing the company alot of money. What Kerry worked his arse off for his whole life, is getting thrown away by a kid who was inherited it all, who has no buisness sense.
