Yeah, WSC, am glad GDT is out of the picture.  I think CRDC has more stand alone upside than does a take-over premium.
 
Just to see, I looked at DITMs for FSLR calls.  There is nothing for January.  The spreads are horrific, man.  It is such a rip taking these prices.
 
Am tempted to do a real trade with FSLR common, even though I bailed out in the 148s a few days ago.  Won't be for a lot, but money is money, and return percentage is static.

If you want foreign market trading then you can cancel out most discount brokers..some can but it isnt easy, then you have the currency conversion etc. I dont think Scottrade is the best choice if you want foreign exchange access.

And about the TOD issue, there would probably be some extra form to fill out but most brokers wont stop you from sending them money, outside complicated LLPs and corporate structured accounts.

As for the options on FSLR, they are ALLLLL too pricey..way too pricey. Even the long shot Novembers are too expensive.

I say do the common, man.  It's easier.  No offense to WSC, but the only thing that anyone should do with options is to sell them.
 
The way I'm going to do FSLR is to scale in.  Maybe 4 buys at 25% over the next few days.....if I can.

FSLR may sell off after 1 eastern today.  If so, I'll look to do an initial 1/4 scale near closing time.

 CC and WSC  thanks...I don't think I have the $$ to tie up in FSLR right now, was hoping to get more bang for the buck with options. But I reviewed their pricing, and was scared away;glad to get confrimation there from ya WSC. Gotta be better things out there to buy.

  I suppose for a person like me the idea that foreign markets could be fun is a dream. I get frustrated at the market/stock movements after hours and having no real way to profit from them when I am fairly certain which way they will go after 4 pm EST. The next day, they are where you thought they would be, but that is already taken by market opening.

Well I should get access to foreign markets myself..the Chinese stock market has been going crazy and most Americans have no access outside ETFs and depository shares..

My comment about FSLR is the options are ALWAYS overpriced..so if you are ok with it, then you could jump in and be prepared to risk it all on those OTM options..

Side comment here..

ALL Solars are running today.

TSL, STP, SPWR, FSLR, WFR etc etc..

The comment is these two bit firms are trying to issue sell ratings and it does NOTHING to the stock. The other day Merriman Cuthbert or whatever started FSLR at a sell rating, stock up that day. Today Brean Murray starts STP at sell, stock up 5 pts.

What this shows are these stocks are momentum monsters and nothing that these phony firms are doing can stop these stocks. Notice that the big boys are not stepping in front of the train. Think of the clients who sold stocks based on these stupid hero reccos and the stocks keep moving.

The better move is to say use a STOP on the stock, not an outright sell..

OK WSC one more dumb question then I gotta get on the road...anyone know why D sports a P/E in the 50s????I don't understand that at all.

 One more question: is there going to be a rate cut, and if so, how much. If 25 basis points is already factored in, will the market really react all that much? Or does Ben have an October surprise waiting for us, eithr negative or positive?

Grid,  Cf is a fertilizer company.  Right now the demand for fertilizer is through the roof.  One of the reasons is the demand for corn for ethanol.  My buddy used to be a chemicals analyst and he told me this is his favorite play of all the fertilizer companies.   He told me to buy this at 60
Also told me to buy MOS at 40

I feel your pain bro..that is terrible, but who would think to buy FERT companies? I dont blame you, but my story is worse on FSLR of course. I got the tip when the stock was below 30.



Vermeer, that is a backward PE ratio..look at their forward number, it is more in line..meaning earnings are going to accelerate this and next year.

Grid, no the shares arent hitting the market, they are being sold through the broker listed in the PR..so no market sale of 2M shares...thankfully..haha

the DITM options would be the Nov 130s...trading with 2 bucks premium and in a sense you are buying the STOCK on quad margin..meaning the options are going for 30 a contract but deep enough that they run point for point and will actually ABSORB premium if the stock drops..so you are buying the contract at 30, point for point and the stock is at 150, so more like 5 to 1 leverage..

Not sexy, but I would rather buy DITM options at leverage than the common..but that is risky no doubt about it.

Why not the 35s? Just interested in your thinking..with the 35s you are  2.50 in the money, thus paying 2.50 on the strike, or 1.20 less than the current bid/ask on the 37.50s.

DRYS and FSLR running like crazy..unreal!

Those DRYS 130s which went for 1.20 that big dump day are almost 10 now.

Enough crying, time to make money..

 I know Cramer takes a lot of shit but after reading him on MOS in May, I told my Dad to buy it on the double play of fertilizer (ethanol) and uranium  reasoning: "Mosaic is the largest producer of phosphate on earth," Cramer said. "Mosaic has got the phosphate, and phosphate has got the uranium."

 Now if I had only follwoed my own advice, I would be as happy as my father is with that holding.But I did not...

Am thinking of getting back into RIO as well, their options already been good to me during the year...what the hell...I hav some ADM options, am hoping good news from CF helps boost them furth in the money...

On the FSLR trade.
 
Call me a box.......won't be the first or last time......but just can't pull trigger on FSLR at the 157ish level.
 
Why not?  It's because I bailed out of it last Wednesday afternoon in the 148s........just can't risk getting clowned by the manipulators here who have run this thing way beyond comprehension.
 
It may go to 220 before they stop running it, and it may sell off 20 points before the next run up.
 
I am going to hold back and anticipate a sell-down.  If it does sell off, then I'll look to do this trade thing again.
 
Hope all had a good day at the liar's poker table at the stock market casino today.

Since this is what I think, I am sure it won't happen:
 
Anyway.......the broad market continues to climb the next 1-2 days.  Not a lot, but a little.  The FED cuts by 25 BPs.  It is interpreted Wednesday as a "non-event."  Then on Thursday, sellers take the spotlight, and then "maybe," "possibly," the solars such as FSLR may drop like .01 points before the manipulators terrorize the shorts some more and send the solar ticker symbols beyond the stratosphere.
 
Time will tell.
