Stick with me guys, this gets really boring. But I know I’ve posted more inane things than this:
PTEC: I’ve been researching into PTEC that KOAJ posted in the previous thread. KOAJ mentioned their new FailSafe product. But what’s more interesting to me is their development of their own hypervisor:
The move is of notable importance: while VMware and Citrix fight to embed their hypervisor into popular servers for enterprise customers, Phoenix may be free to do the same thing in the consumer market, but without a single competitor because of its privileged position in the computing stack.
In computing, a hypervisor (also: virtual machine monitor) is a virtualization platform that allows multiple operating systems to run on a host computer at the same time.
What this means is that the Phoenix BIOS system will have its own hypervisor imbedded into its system, unlike the other hypervisor/software manufacturers that must incorporate their own systems into somebody else’s BIOS. I would have to believe this would give
What also makes this more interesting to me is that I could potentially see Phoenix getting bought out by EMC, Citrix or Vmware as a way to get into the personal computer market, but I would not buy this or any stock solely on a speculated buy-out.
KOAJ or anyone, can you elaborate on the potential of
