Sorry for going off on Cramer, but the guy is a shill and admired by those who dont know better...

And anyone who reads or observes here will know my view on that crook..

ANYONE can win in the market when you dont have to follow the rules and have inside information..

 Grid: I will look more into that stock...I did a cursory look before, I will look more deeply into it later tonight.I am very, very wary right now, although I think the market may have a bogus, now til Christmas last gasp. Hope I am wrong about the last gasp part.

Funny you mention "little danny snyder" in a thread about Jim Cramer.
 
I met Cramer once at a symposium back in 2000.  The guy actually talked to my peon self, I think cause I took him off guard with a question.....
 
I asked him what he thought of "little danny snyder," cause he was talking about the upcoming Eagles/Redskins game with a crony and I overheard it when I approached his table.
 
He called little danny "the biggest short in the NFL" and said to bet against him.
 
I got to give Cramer credit for that one.....but many were saying the same thing then.

A few PTEC comments..

Very erratic and inconsistent revenue over the past few years..

Also they have very high fixed costs. They have 8M plus a year in operating expenses..that means depending on revenues they will have to likely DOUBLE current numbers before they even SNIFF at profits..

It also looks like they will keep diluting when they get low on cash.

I dont know enough about the technology and the competition to form an opinion on a buy or hold on the stock.

We have been strong with messages lately but today was extra strong with the FOMC for sure.

I wouldnt mind having 10 threads a month..if we can make money I would spend ever minute of the day here...

Cramer does know his football..he is a huge Beagles fan...

 Speaking of someone who should be on the inside looking out, anyone read  the honorable Murtha profile in the WSJ a day ago?

 PS I am not saying everyone is an ass and/or a crook, just 95 per cent. The exceptions make life worth living.

  But they are in the definite minority, at least in my experience, at that level, in any sphere in life. I used to think that was cynicism, but it simply is realism. I really treasure people who are humble, considerate successes, but they are rarities, and you can see that every day just in the sports world, much less finance.

 I would throw Tony Dungy in  there as a genuine guy...whose life has included way too much tragedy...

Yep, "making money" is the hard part.  Easy to talk about it, easy to play armchair QB at end of day.  Whole 'nother animal to anticipate the moves, post them, and then be right more times than wrong.
 
"Trading" seems like it could be fun, but the stress, man.  To me, it's off the charts....the stress that is.  To me, so much easier to have a longer time horizon.....like the CFC short I posted today.  Long(er) term allows you to not be on the gd edge every single second of the day, hand-wringing about every bluff you see from the manipulators.
 
But the sad thing is that on a gambling board, peeps want quick money yesterday.
 
And the trading seems like you'd have to make literally hundreds of moves a day going for fractions, and posting all that stuff would just be a huge hassle.

The biggest lesson I have learned over the years and more so recently is not to fight the trend..if I went with my gut I would run out of money because my view on the markets could be wrong for YEARS and has been.

I see the markets as 40-60% overvalued longer term...yet in the short term our monetary policy has created excess demand for goods/services and our assets. That will not work longer term and when it all settles out this market is in for a SMASHING..

Until then we ride the winners and cross our fingers..

That doesnt mean winners dont turn into losers, check out CROX tonite..and remember a few guys boasting about JSDA? Both are disasters..

Speaking of HANS/JSDA..I need to get in touch with my Pepsi contact..a month or so ago he mentioned in December that Pepsi was going to announce an energy strategy that would be amazing..if that means a HANS buyout or some strategic alliance with another name, I am not sure. To me HANS is a takeout target and I will see if I can get any more info from this guy.

 CC I go with Taleb's idea: keep 90% locked away in the safest, surest vehicle you can determine, and then play with the remaining ten percent for the "outlier," the real gambling payoff. Trading and investment are two entirely different animals, and two entirely different personalities are required.The Taleb idea is one I am comforatble with, as I am much more a long term trend person.

 I thought your short today on CFC a real gamble, but a reasonable one.I just do not like the political connections CFC has on its board...they are deeply DC entrenched and protected, or so I recall. I  can't recall who in specific I am thinking of, but check their directors...

Been fun yapping with you all tonight.  Good insights.  Taleb is right.  I hope I'm right on CFC......it is scary cause of the HUGE short position.  It could go 20s in the blink of an eye off news, and that would not shock me at all.  If it drops hard tomorrow, I may cover tomorrow, pay Uncle Sam, and not sit around hoping for a grind down to 12.03.........just too scary what "could" happen, and there'd be no time to adjust, cause the move would be nothing but a big, wide, gap-up.
 
I got to sign off.  Need to put the vodka bottle up, or I won't be functional tomorrow.

 I think the process will be slow..or slow enough to allow wriggle room. This mess is not going anywhere fast...or so I think.

   you got that right,,,hate to be negative but the reality is the game is mostly rigged,,,,it is kind of like the argument that the nfl is sort of fixed,not totally,not every game ,but every once and a while ,things just go a certain way and u hope u are on the right side of the''fix'',,,as far as cramer ,he is an entertainer,, have met him several times ,actually cool to talk to and hang with,not hang hang ,but for a little while,,,he was a classic slimeball back in the day,somewhat rehabilitated image wise now, nice guy,friend of the average investor,,blow me...as far as whoever said something earlier about some info in a yahoo message board, all i will say is be very  carefull,, iknow scumbag brokers that all they do in their spare time is spout bullshit about stocks on that site and others for their own benefit,,rate cut no big deal,as expected,,,i did enjoy the posts tonite,very entertaining,,,carlitos way is on encore,must go watch ,great flick

Points all well taken.  Right now I am trying to find a timeframe when they think they'll have the hypervisor rolled out.  Also watch the volumes, somebody was stepping in yesterday.

Am really worried about my CFC short.  Guys, don't kill me, but I am going to be a box and cover at today's open, pay Uncle Sam the 28%, take the left-over money, and bail my sorry ass out of the trading arena.
 
Trading is not my style, and I've been lucky with it so far......and that luck ain't going to last.
 
I fully believe that "trading gods" will severely punish me with a specific CFC BAILOUT PACKAGE if I stay in, and if I leave now, well, then there won't be any CFC BAILOUT PACKAGE.
 
Vermeer, man, you got me worried last night talking about all those politicos on the CFC boards........those gd mf-ing bastards will use the weakness as an opportunity for them to buy, then they will enact a BAILOUT PACKAGE FOR CFC, and then they will cash at the window.

grid - re: PTEC = very smart insiders over there...3 buys in the last week and a hedge fund who tried to buy them out in Jan at $5 was buying in the open market at 8.76

PTEC:
-Eric Martinuzzi of Craig-Hallum Capital Group is the only analyst covering PTEC, according to FirstCall. He has a "strong buy" rating and $12 target on the stock. At least three other analysts did participate on the company's conference call.
