BitMex is down

So I read something saying fees have gone through the roof after this halving thing, is that true?

What kind of fees? 

Do a google search for Bitcoin fee increase and you will see. There is an article on cointelegraph mentioning a large increase recently.

I think it’s just everything getting balanced out around the halving. Should be no big deal.

The coins in this transaction were mined in the first month of Bitcoin's existence.

So what is the importance of that?

People have always said that finding out who Satoshi is would be bad for bitcoin. Satoshi also has something like 1,000,000 bitcoins. It has obviously spooked the market. 

Some of the old school guys like Adam Back, Jameson Lopp etc have just said this isn’t Satoshi. 

If I had to guess I would say that Satoshi is Hal Finney and he’s dead. It is known that Hal Finney corresponded via email, btc wallet transactions and they were the first on the bitcointalk forum where Satoshi first put up the bitcoin white paper. 

Embedded in the coinbase transaction of this block was the text: "", referring to a headline in the UK newspaper The Times published on that date.

people need to chill. if Satoshi was selling coins, surely he would sell his most recently mined, and so most anonymous first. plus this patoshi research is pretty much guessing, probably he has less coins than people think, and you'll be doxing random early miners wrongly next.

Craig Wright has claimed to be Satoshi. He has basically been laughed off the stage. However, he did say he was going to move/sell bitcoins from the genesis block after the halving. 

I don’t think he is Satoshi, but if he is that would be real bad. 

So the creator selling is speaking about the potential for BTC itself, that makes sense of course. I have done zero research into that topic btw...

Alts starting to pop 

Cardano on the move. 

Shelley (Cardano’s decentralized mainnet) set to be released July 29. After that they should be listed on coinbase as well. 

Strong price action this week, dips are not deep and someone is nudging it higher. I think it pushes though 10k this weekend and might go even higher. 

Cardano has a nice run up to $0.082 

ETH looks strong

Hello everyone, i am thinking to short ETH or ADA. Which one would you choose? Thank you.

I was a day off, the machines have been ramping BTC for the last week plus. Volume really kicked in the last 30 minutes and this is not retail buying, its machines ramping.

ADA is coming out with their decentralized mainnet soon and ETH 2.0 should be complete in the next month or two. I wouldn’t short either one right now. 

I would not short ETH. Vitalik came out today saying the initial deployment of layer 2 scaling strategy has pretty much succeeded.
