SHFL running...pisses me off should of got it the other day at its  multi year low.  

What you think of BZH coverd calls? AUG 15's look pretty good for quick hit.

Everything is running.  What a rally.  132 pts on the Dow doesn't really tell the story.  This is a really broad and strong rally.  The Bull is officially back.  I guess is subprime schmubprime.

BZH looks too good to lock up on a CC..

I still think there is a chance they go under btw, but I would rather either go long the stock to the next strike or allow myself the chance to get out vs being stuck in a CC..

D2, I had an article that mentioned the mid to smaller names in the NAZ were at 5 yr lows on new highs vs new lows basis..so even though the NAZ hasnt done poorly, the bigger names are why..so movement in the NON Naz 100 wouldnt be seen in the 2% plus move today, just like the destruction hasnt been seen either.

McClellan Oscallator was hunting pretty low this week, a technical sign we were due for a bounce.

I am thinking you go against this trend after it peeters out..

And the Dow goes red.  Bizarre.  Doesn't really tell the story either.  Markets are strong.  Showing weakness late though.

I didnt see the drop, anyone hear what made a 300 pt turn? went down from up almost 200 to even to up 150 in 90 minutes?

Big$$$, I dont trust DRYS..too few hands owning the company and some really fishy accounting. I think it will end up imploding at some future date..in a bad bad way..

in today's news...BNP Paribas and Bear Stearns are having trouble marking their debt laden funds to market

sounds great

GSCO's big quant fund lost 9% last month

Markets mostly shrugging off the bad news.  I think Dow may still finish down bu Nasdaq and much of the broader market will continue to move higher.

Bought some USU stock after it had dropped in price over a dollar today. Looks like it may be on it's way back up

Geez this market is up and down and up and down..

I dont like saying this but convulsive action in the market usually isnt a bullish sign.

When the market moves in both directions dramatically, in the past that has been a sign that a top could be in and a sharp down session is in the works..

Still early though of course..

Strange looking indicies today.  Much of what I'm watching is up today.  What sectors are struggling?  Financials again, I'm guessing?

Yep...financials and larger tech..but the middle Russell stocks arent hurt as bad..this is a larger cap drop today.

Out of 20 on my screen I have 50/50 up and down.

depeche - large cap, dividends, defensive plays are strong...or not as weak

look through the S&P or DJIA and find a company who has nothing to do with mortgages...CL, PG, MRK, CHK, XOM, etc

or you could be like me and sit in a money market paying 4.5% and wait this thing out

Summer trading..the volume is like half regular so the market can get whipsawed all over the place.

My comment above is based on past experience though..these up 200 down 200 same week moves is not a bullish way the market acts..

Someone doesnt like AAPL lately, stock getting wacked today, heavy volume as well.

Smells like -300 on the DOW..last hour has been kind to the market lately though..

No doubt there's turbulence.  Remains to be seen which direction she ultimately heads back in.  I still think ultimately the global economy is strong, liquidity is good, interest rates are steady and profits are good.  The subprime thing is bad for those involved but it's narrow.  Did the entire market get derailed over the S&L "crisis"?  Or whatever other crisis of the day?

Dips here are buying opps, esp in sectors with global exposure and non-financials.  Tech and healthcare are not going away.
