I was reading about that...mortgage REITs could get nailed HARD because of the margin calls they can get..
The reason I nibbled on some IMB today is they held the dividend and they arent subject to the margin calls these REITs are, plus they are an S&L with a large customer base for deposits.
At 20 bucks IF they hold the dividend that is a 10% yield..things straighten themselves out and stabilize, I could hold onto this stock for a very long time.
In fact I am tempted to throw a larger ammt at the stock..1k shares plus, right now I have under 500 shares.

I wonder if the worst is over here( Like clay court, I was thinking that yesterday late was simply a dead cat bounce. I plan on holding off for a few weeks (only one lame options play left on the books, and that will be liquidated tomorrow, for a small loss, or maybe stopped out today for that matter). But I think this week has been panic selling from an historical high.(That being said, a lot of bad companies and bad deals are going to blow up, and should be blown up, as they were hot air anyway. The deals that were being made were absolutely terrible, and based on the greater fool theory...those days are over, I hope). I am going to be a buyer on selected issues I feel are oversold. Anyone have a watch list of shares they feel are in this category? Compare some notes?? Not thinking of wading in until September...gotta wait to see if the FED blunders in as usual to prop up bogus valuations.
